I'm thinking about sending a couple DS systems to my cousins who are around 7-8. What are some good DS games I could send to them? I've made a list of games that I'll consider so far, please let me know if I'm missing any!

New Super Mario Bros.
Mario Kart DS
Crayola Treasure Adventures
Pokemon Black/White
Pokemon Black 2/White 2
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver
Nintendogs
Scribblenauts
Super Scribblenauts
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Sonic Rush
Toy Story 3 DS
Lego Harry Potter
Mario 64 DS
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Plants vs Zombies
WarioWare: Touched!
WarioWare: DIY
Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story
Clubhouse Games
Mario Party DS

Tetris DS
Art Academy
Sonic Classic Collection
Drawn to Life

Thanks!

I can’t think of any other games, you have a lot of the good ones. When they get a little older they might like smash bros and spirit tracks.

This is a really good list. From these games, though, I can personally recommend New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, Mario 64 DS, Bowser's Inside Story, Mario Party DS and Tetris DS.

Currently playing:

Persona 3 Reload (PC)
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (PC)

I really like the Ace Attorney series. Do you think it'll be alright or no?

@Mikmoomamimocki
Ace Attorney games are targeted for older kids (teenager) as the game was about crime and court situation with some certain things are not suitable for kids under 13 years old. Also, the games used visual novel style and i don't really think 7 - 8 years old kid will get interested.

Ohhh yeah I forgot about the visual novel bit, their reading level might be a little too low. Thanks!

@SmashBall35 thanks for the spirit tracks recommendation! Which do you think is better, Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks?

@Mikmoomamimocki

Yup. Personally, I haven’t been able to fully play spirit tracks or hourglass, but I feel like I’d rather play spirit tracks. It just comes down to personal opinion and play style. Also, just as a side note phantom hourglass is the sequel of spirit tracks.

I'd say get them a few licensed kids show games, if they're into that stuff. Maybe "Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants edition" would be a good pick. (Never played it myself, so I can't say if it's good or not)

Currently "cruising" through: Sonic Adventure

Willing to discuss because of completion (not 100%): Metroid Dread, BOTW and TOTK, Legends Arceus, Pokemon S/V, Zayzoo: An Earth Adventure

I don't see Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum on your list. I would highly recommend those in addition to the Pokemon games you already mentioned.

Both Spectrobes games are good as well. They're kind of like Pokemon in that you train and evolve monsters (Spectrobes), but you get them by digging up and reviving fossils instead of catching them. Also, you're fighting an alien species (Krawl) instead of opposing trainers. The first one is rated E for Everyone (ESRB in the US), but the 2nd one, Beyond the Portals is E10+ (Everyone 10+), so you might want to make sure that that one would be okay for them.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games are also good. My favorite is Explorers of Sky, although Explorers of Time/Darkness are very similar too. Blue Rescue Team is also good, but I like the Explorers games better.

The Pokemon Ranger games are also fun. Guardian Signs is my favorite, but the other 2 are also good. These games have you trying to circle a Pokemon as much as possible with the stylus to catch them. You then can use the caught Pokemon to solve puzzles, like a fire Pokemon burning down a log in your way, or assist you in capturing another Pokemon, by stunning it and making it easier to circle for example. Sometimes you can't catch a Pokemon, but just calm it down or free it from the bad guys control instead.

Also, what model are the DS systems? If they're original DS or DS Lite they can also play Gameboy Advance games, and I could probably recommend some of those as well. The DSi cannot play Gameboy Advance however.

If your cousins like puzzle games, then I highly recommend Mario vs Donkey Kong: Miniland Mayhem. It's pretty cheap secondhand ($10-$15 CIB) if that helps.

Retro gaming is too damn expensive.
