isnt vc more of a last resort thing like if theres a week with no 3ds ware they will put a vc game there but if there is a 3ds ware in a week theres no vc because they would probaubly think you get a brand new game all together so play it
My two cents - apologies if any points have been brought up already, I haven't read through the thread.
I appreciate that there are a few games - Wario Land in particular - that aren't yet available in North America that people really want. Take stock of what's already available, though, and to be honest both North America and Europe have it pretty good. On the Game Boy there's Donkey Kong, Super Mario Land 2, Kirby's Dream Land, Metroid II, Game & Watch Gallery, Mario's Picross... North America has 31 Game Boy games already and Europe has 33. We've each got a couple of brilliant Game Boy Color titles as well. Yeah, Wario Land is great and the day it comes to North America will surely go down in history as one of your finest moments, but in the meantime there are plenty of other amazing games to try out.
Besides, you're getting more Nintendo 3DS Download Software titles than we are, and since we're waiting for the likes of VVVVVV and Mutant Mudds, I'd call that a pretty fair trade-off.
Better question is, why should we even care anymore?
Better question is, why are the NA people so whiny? Like, You've got almost a double amount of 3DSWare titles and still complaining? They will come eventually.. it's not like the world is going down or something.. these are old games.. geez...
I'm really getting sick of this discussions(on VC news articles) and topics here... just be patient...

Apples and oranges. But you only like apples, not oranges. Yet they keep giving you oranges because they're both fruit.
Or to put it another way, people aren't willing to take risks with downloadable games because they cannot be returned if they are bad games. Retro games we know and love are guaranteed to be enjoyable. There's no risk there. Why download a potentially bad game when you can download a game you already know to be good?
Will I like Mutant Mudds? Other people do, but me personally? Don't know. Will I enjoy Wario Land? Of course, I've played it for hours and know what to expect.
I've not even downloaded Shantae on DSiWare yet because I don't want to spend that much on a game I can't return that I've never played before.

In 2006 people wanted Earthbound on the Wii Virtual Console. Its now 2012 and still no Earthbound. People enjoy old games, some even more so than new games.
@Djrr-ific Well i Think it's great too that we get more 3DS VC games, I'm not too fussed about 3DSware games myself, i've seen nothing that interests me so far,. I did download Freakyforms when it was released but It wasn't quite how I imagined it to be, however it was a pretty good game. I am still waiting on good VC games, especially from square enix like Dragon quest 1+2, Dragon quest 3, Dragon Quest Monsters, Final fantasy adventure etc, they will what gets me buying more 3DS VC games. I am also waiting for the next game gear games because they announced Defenders of Oasis, a game that looks pretty similar to DQ and will be the first GameGear game I will play (ever). Anyway, We (PAL regions) need more 3DS VC titles anyway, I've played most of the great GB titles on the VC and I'm not really interested in the rest of the GB titles available on the Eshop, I already own Metroid II, Super Mario Land II, Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, Catrap, Trip World, Kirby's Dreamland and Gargoyle's Quest, all which are great in their own right, Metroid II being my current favourite, I bet it like a week ago.

Bass_XO, you pretty well summed up a lot of my sentiments on DSi/WiiWare & 3DS Downloads. I know they're not all are bad, and there are gems like Pushmo. But, unless I hear TREMENDOUS word-of-mouth on a new downloadable-only game, or have the option of playing a demo, I won't even consider buying it. I've heard of too much "shovelware" among new releases over the years to spend what precious little money I have on anything but a sure bet.
Besides that, I'm a retro gamer, who generally prefers the games of the past to today's games. I liked the games and the gameplay better. So, getting far more DSi/WiiWare & 3DS Downloads is a negative for me. I'm rarely seeing the games I want to play on Wii Shop or eShop, and that makes me "whiny", LOL. Especially when games I want are already out in other regions, and have been for a long time in some cases. What makes it worse is that I do the Club Nintendo surveys, and regularly ask for more VC games. And I know that others do the same. That I rarely see any makes me feel ignored as a Nintendo consumer. As with Earthbound, they're clearly going to do what they want, regardless of what their fans want.
Another factor that makes VC important for me is that, unfortunately, I wasn't born into money and haven't been remotely well to do in my life. There are a lot of games I missed out on because I couldn't afford them, and local game rental establishments didn't offer certain titles. I especially missed out on Game Boy games, because I bought Super Nintendo games, which used to be quite expensive (I remember Final Fantasy III/VI being a little over $80)! And, I have a problem with getting pre-owned games for a large number of reasons. So, the release of both Wii and 3DS VC games is something important to me on a number of levels.
Because Nintendo hates us. You guys should know that by now, I blame the ponies on NL.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
@FluttershyGuy Well i'm in the same boat as you, pal. I missed out on owning everything as a kid too, I didn't have money of my own for ages and my parents were very apprehensive about video games (and they still are), I made up for that in the last five years. I remember games like Pokemon Blue being like $80 NZD here, and that's like the price of a new DS/3DS game nowadays, I found this ridiculous at the time, cos I was only like 8 and I really wanted to own it (and I do now, thanks to the internet, I love my boxed copy so much that I haven't played it in years). I haven't bothered much about the Wii's VC in ages, mostly because of no Earthbound and the fact my Wii seems to be playing up at the moment, Believe me If any game needs to be released through either the 3DS or Wii's VC, it's earthbound.
