So, on this recent Christmas I upgraded from the regular sized old 3DS model to the New 3DS XL. On my old model, I noticed that, after a while, scratches on the top screen had started to appear due to the bottom touch screen. These were two thin lines on either side of the screen, slightly inward from the outer edges, caused by the edging of the bottom touch screen and the fact that the system had little to no bumpers that stopped the upper screen coming into contact with the bottom. It is also worth noting that on the old 3DS, the edges on the touch screen were very bulky but on the newer models, they have been revised so that now it is a much smoother edge. I was wondering if this scratching problem still occurred with the New models, or if I should start doing something to prevent it (as of recently, I have been putting in a thin microfibre cloth whenever I close the system).
Thanks for any input!
Wow, okay. Thanks for the responses guys, that is kinda annoying that they haven't fixed it. I'll just try getting a screen protector for the upper screen.
I checked my New 3DS XL and the space between the bottom part and the top screen, I do not see how scratched can appear this time. However, I'm not taking any chances so I leave the original soft fabric between the screens.
i have the Zelda 25th anniversary 3DS and the upper has those stupid scratches from the lower. The worst part is that I can't find a replacement screen ANYWHERE that has the gold colored volume instead of the white. HELLLP ME!!!
This happens because of increased pressure as you walk and move around with the system in your pocket or book bag. The rubber feet are enough from keeping the top and bottom screen from touching but if you squeeze the top and bottom together you will notice the screens touch. Now normally no one would do this but as you move around with the system in your pocket It's natural for this to happen from time to time. With Nintendo encouraging us to take the system where ever we go you would think by now we would have a solution to this problem. I have scratches on my XL and had them on my old 3ds as well. This time day or week one I'm getting no less then a upper screen protector.
It's a shame that this problem still occurs after Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS, New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL models. Come on, Nintendo. I'll have to leave Nintendo handhelds on the table as if they were laptops.
