Publisher CFK has announced that it will be launching Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger's Requiem on the Switch.
The game is a sequel to the Castlevania-inspired side-scroller Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony featuring characters from 'Touhou Project', which launched on the Switch's eShop just earlier this year, with a physical version available in the Japanese market.
No release date has been set at the time of writing, but attendees to Japan's Tokyo Game Show 2022 on September 15-18th will be able to hands on with the game ahead of its release. As confirmed by Gematsu, Stranger's Requiem will feature language support for English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional, Simplified), Korean, and French.
We'll keep an eye out for a release date in the meantime, but this definitely looks like one to add to the collection!

That looks really smooth. Seeing as this is already part 2, I think I totally missed the first release in the series. Is it any good?
I know it's been hinted at before but is Touhou set in the same universe as Castlevania? Remilia is supposedly a descendant of Dracula.
I knew about Touhou Lunar Nights which is another Touhou game in the Metroidvania style but I was completely unaware of this subseries.
I love how they reproduce the gothic portraits art era of Castlevania. I missed that
Jeez, didn’t the first one just come out? No idea how that one turned out. Curious if it’s any good. It looked like a solid title. I know nothing about Touhou.
I was going to get the first one (and I likely will at some point) but I learned it was level-based rather than exploratory like Symphony of the Night.
It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker but I enjoy the exploration ones better.
Anyway, the first looked absolutely stellar so I’ll likely get both of these (and any future ones as well!)
I’m glad it didn’t take 4 years or something to make the second one 😂
I never heard of the series, but I do like Castlevania, so if that inspires these games, maybe they are worth checking out.
@Axecon It's somewhat implied that Remilia lies about being related to Dracula to make her seem like a bigger deal.
And it's a shame Luna Nights never got a proper review here. Nor did the first Koumajou Remilia. Nor the actual canon fighting game Antimony of Common Flowers. It feels that after the first few Touhou fangames on the Switch, the folks at Nintendo Life decided it wasn't worth giving the series any attention.
@Pillowpants It's a pretty alright, pretty difficult, and pretty-looking classic (level-based) Castlevania. Nothing groundbreaking, but worth the try if you have the interest and the disposable income.
wow thanks for ruining gameplay trailer by putting massive overlay of desciptive characters on the screen!!
I didn't know about the first one. I'm a huge castlevania fan so i may have to look into these!
Already got the first one, may definitely try this second one.
Played both of these at some point, bought the first one, probably will not get this one though, I just preferred the more brisque pace of the first one.
I just bought the first one, and I will purchase this second one.
@Pillowpants not really. It's not even a Metroidvania, if that's what you're looking for. It's about an hour long game with some straightforward kinda CV platforming levels, each ending with bullet hell inspired boss. It's just okay (the music is great).
I recommend Touhou Luna Nights or the Lodoss War Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. Those are two phenomenal, satisfying games.
@BeefSanta Thanks for the tips! I love me some Metroidvania games, so I'll add them to my wishlist
@NL Can we get a review for the first one possibly?
