Mega Man X-inspired Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, the third mainline entry in the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, is out in just a few months. And at the latest INDIE Live Expo, Inti Creates' action platformer got a brand new trailer that showcased the game's English voice acting. This makes it the second game in the series — and the first mainline game — to feature English voices!
The trailer above shows off four of the characters you'll be seeing in the upcoming game, but at the end of the trailer, a red-armoured boss shows up, and while his voice isn't confirmed in the trailer, Inti Creates did state who would be voicing this new boss character on Twitter.
Here are the confirmed English voices so far:
- Sean Chiplock (Revali in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Rean Schwarzer in Trails of Cold Steel) — Gunvolt
- Kelly Baskin (Melodia in Disgaea 6, Amber in Genshin Impact) — Kirin
- Diana Garnet (Joule and Lumen, Azure Striker Gunvolt show) — Lumen
- Ryan Colt Levy (Khonsu in Shin Megami Tensei V, Kiley in Pokémon Journeys: The Series)
- Todd Haberkorn (Razor in Genshin Impact, Metodey in Fire Emblem: Three Houses) Cayman
The game drops on 28th July on Switch. You can also pre-order a physical edition from Limited Run Games if you're a huge fan of the series.
How do you feel about the game having English voices? Let us know what you think about the cast so far in the comments.

Man, I still haven't even finished the first game. I started it on both 3DS and Switch and made it fairly far both times but got distracted by other things at around the same spot both times and haven't returned to it. Fun game though.
Release date is all I need now.
I gotta go back to Luminous Avenger 2, and start… I mean, finish… that one, but I’ve really enjoyed Azure Striker Gunvolt, so I’m looking forward to this one. It’s not quite as good as the impeccable Megaman X series (at least it was impeccable up to X5… the less said about the later entries the better, even if X6 and X8 do have SOME positives), but it’s the best imitator we’ve got.

@somnambulance uh! not long from now, thanks for the info.
@BenAV that awkward moment you think you're alone in it, just to find out there are others like yourself, same with me, still need to focus and complete it as well, started playing sometime last year and got distracted as well, of course from other releases.
It's been pretty cool seeing everyone hyped for this, especially when it's by Inti Creates (even if MM10 wasn't that good)!
I completely forgot about this game. I was only playing the first one on PC recently. Wish it was coming out for my birthday which is June 10th but at least there's Mario Strikers to look forward to.
These sound really good! If only Xenoblade 3 wasn't coming out so close it, I'd pick right on launch. I've only beaten the mainline games (though I am working on the first Luminous Striker), but I'm definitely picking this up when I can.
@Rpg-lover I got distracted before finishing the first one. I don't know why, there's just something about them that doesn't hold you for very long.
Hopefully this comes to PS4/5 soon. God these trailers are awful. Game looks great though.
I also got distracted before finishing the first one 😅
Didn't stop me from getting the physical edition of this 3rd entry. Very well made series of games...just need to find the time to actually play them.
I love these games.
I never finished the first two, but I did sort-of finish Luminous Avenger iX 2. That was the first one after Mighty Gunvolt Burst that really grabbed me. Sadly they locked the best ending away behind a Hard mode that changed so much about the game I really didn't feel like taking it on.
Major X fan from the first game through the 4th, here. 👋
bought the first ASG on 3ds back in the day... man it just didnt have it for me. The similarity to X is skin deep, imo, and the gameplay is a little too "sticky" for me, like every screen is a labor to get through. It's hard to explain.
I really wanted to love it, maybe I'll give this new one a shot!
PS - i just bought x legends 1 on sale last night, what a perfect compilation! Howd we get so lucky that 1 thru 4 end up on one comp?! Those are the good ones, folks!
@NotArmani Man, Megaman 10 was fantastic! Being the worst mainline Megaman game is like being the worst Beatles album.
Anyway, Inti Creates has a solid reputation for strong retro influenced games. Glad they’re getting the positive attention as well!
@Maximumbeans absolutely, you're spot on with that observation, their is always something that keeps you away from focusing to completing them.
Yeah I saw it. Nice stuff
I really love this series. Just finished ASG2 the other day, and started Luminous Avenger 1.
The ending to ASG2 is one of the saddest I have ever experienced in a game, and I appreciate that the writers were willing to avoid the easy "happy ending" route and deliver something more meaningful.
