Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media have confirmed that the "eccentric FMV murder mystery" Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? is coming to Switch next month.
Filmed during lockdown and shot simultaneously in London and Los Angeles, the game stars Andy Buckley (The Office, Jurassic World) as Uncle Marcus, Abigail Hardingham (Nina Forever, The Missing), Susannah Doyle (Black Mirror, Drop The Dead Donkey, About A Boy), Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time, Pinocchio), Georgia Small (Five Dates) and Al Weaver (The Complex).
Here's some PR:
WHO PRESSED MUTE ON UNCLE MARCUS? is an eccentric FMV murder mystery with a twist: someone has poisoned Uncle Marcus. Uncover the truth in the yearly family quiz and try to save him before it is too late.
Every year, Abby’s mum has a family quiz on her birthday. It’s a long-held tradition, one that brings the whole rich and eccentric family together - and one that Abby dreads. But this year's quiz comes with a shocking difference... as it’s about to begin, her beloved Uncle Marcus tells her that he’s dying - and someone in the family has poisoned him. Abby is the only one he can trust... You must find out who the murderer is before it is too late.
Dr David Banner MBE, Executive Producer/Co-Founder of Wales Interactive, had this to say:
We’re proud to kickstart our 2022 slate of interactive movies with WPMOUM, a quirky murder mystery, co-produced by Good Gate Media, and developed with our in-house narrative tool WIST (Wales Interactive Scripting Tool). As fans of The Office (U.S.) we couldn’t be happier to have the hilarious Andy Buckley on-board as well as some familiar FMV fan favourites from the likes of Five Dates and The Complex.
The game will be released on 18th March, and is also coming to Steam, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders go live on March 4th.

I REALLY want someone to make an FMV game were there's an option to have a Sega/Mega CD mode just for the fun of it. Complete with 1X load wait times.
I love a good FMV game but I really don't want a game that reminds me of zoom quizzes lmao
Great idea, just a bit too late for the video calling aspect to feel as relevant as it was in 2020-mid 2021
I love FMV, can't wait.
I've never been less excited for an FMV game, this one just looks bad, happy to be proven wrong though.
Hey, it's David Wallace from Dunder Mifflin.
I was a little hesitant over the return of FMV games, but I have found myself really enjoying many of them. I've bought all of Wales Interactive games, except Five Dates and I've loved them all except I Saw Black Clouds. I'm glad to see this looks more along the lines of The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker in that it's more of an interview style game rather than a movie. Not only has there not been many of those, but I think they have better replay value.
@NatiaAdamo Consider it done.
@TheFox Thank you so much for playing our games. We love to hear you found a new genre to love. We highly recommend Five Dates, it's very much a 'feel good' game
@AcridSkull Our job is to prove you wrong. Whether it's this one or the next one, we will do it. We have many with entirely different themes, budgets and play styles so we hope there is one for you
@Astral-Grain, David Wallace here. Thanks for watching the new trailer, let us know if you wanna join us for Suck It sometime.
@WalesInteractive Er... What?
