There are a lot of big releases next year, but the biggest release of all might be YOUR FIST in SOMEONE'S FACE. Not in real life, please — Nintendo Life does not condone violence unless it's in fighting games — but in Phantom Breaker: Omnia, which we've got some lovely exclusive footage of right here. Or, well, up there. It's above this paragraph.
Phantom Breaker: Omnia is a remake of the original Japan-only 2D anime fighting game, Phantom Breaker, which came out on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2011. It was announced for Switch last year, with an all-new English dub, new characters and balance adjustments. The English voice cast includes SungWon Cho, Matthew Mercer, and plenty of the voices from anime dubs of well-known anime like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Aggretsuko, and My Hero Academia.
The last news we got on Phantom Breaker: Omnia was the trailer for the English dub, but now we can show you this exclusive gameplay footage with a fight between two of the characters, Itsuki and Ria. Itsuki's English voice actor is Erica Lindbeck, who also plays Futaba Sakura in Persona 5, and Ria's voice actor is Caitlin Glass, who voices Cammy in Street Fighter V.
Phantom Breaker: Omnia is due on Switch in 2022.

Will keep an eye on it. Don't care for dubs, but the game looks like it could be fun as long as it does not end up censored for some reason.
Wake up game looks weak but I will add it to my fighting game rotation. I feel like I have seen this so I likely took a look at it when it first came out.
This does not look good, animation looks to be needing extra frames and it looks janky. Far better already out there
In 2022?! I was thinking it is due in the December of 2021... Sigh
phantom breakers battleground on switch is one of my go to beatemups as it has no learning curve and anyone who can button mash can play and win. this looks good yet i prefer beatemups
I’m afraid the 2022 release window isn’t good enough for me. WHEN in 2022?
I really think we need a conversation about how voice actors get way too much credit when it comes to video games.
The people who say some cheesy phrases and make some "Ugh!" "Ouch!" sounds during a fighting game should not get more attention then the people responsible for the gameplay or the art direction.
I’m still waiting on online co-op for Phantom Breaker: battlegrounds. Throw this game away and do that!
Looks fine to me. Looking fwd to it.
sometimes ya just gotta smack your uppity maid around.. they always make up nice afterwards
Phantom breaker extra was a thing, and is region free. Not that it matters lol. Idk why but the voices in that video make me happy woosh. Spinnin to winning X3
Also my sister and partially me didn't care much for the lack of frames or delayed looking fighting in phantom breaker extra. So hopefully that's improved in this version.
@YANDMAN Doesn't look too bad to me. Much better animation than some other fighting games I know.
@IceEarthGuard like what?
@YANDMAN I was thinking about Blade Strangers and SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy. But after looking at those games again, maybe not?
(Oh well to me the animation for this game is fine with me so far from this video, and who knows they might improve it since the release date is in 2022.)
@IceEarthGuard To be honest though, I feel that the weak animation is its smallest problem. It just isn't original or exciting, there are so many similar games. Just about any Blazblu game already looks better and they came out years ago.
