With today marking the start of the Pokémon inaugural international championship, The Pokémon Company have now announced the European International Championships.
Arriving on British shores from 9th-11th December, this event is taking place in the heart of London at the ExCeL Exhibition Center. The first in a new series of championships taking place worldwide, Players wanting to participate should check their standing with the Play! Pokémon program and bring their valid ID card. You can then begin registering here; new players will need to create a free Trainer Club account at Pokémon.co.uk.
Also worth mentioning is that these events will now provide higher payouts compared to previous years with a prize pool value up to $250,000 dollars (around £200,000) depending on attendance. The London event itself will feature the world record breaking Pokémon TCG mosaic (Yes the Pikachu image made entirely from Pokémon cards).
Otherwise those wanting to watch from the comfort of their Snorlax bean bag chair can view the action live here and here.

I won't be entering, that's for sure.

Eh...why ?
I competed in a UK national Pokémon VCG championship a few years ago... we were overrun by spaniards for some reason.
Fun day out. Would be even better if it was school holidays
I would very much like to go. But a £40 entry fee is absurd.
