So high...
Upon accepting Nintendo of Europe's invitation to spend two hours with the Ocarina of Time remake, my expectations were so astronomically high that it felt almost unfair. Over time, we all learn to temper expectations, to sidestep disappointment and maybe even inject some pleasant surprise into our lives, but it's difficult to do that...

Feature 30 Years Later, I'm Finally Learning To Play The Ocarina (And You Should Too)
Ocarina of Mine
My first ocarina was from a hippy shop in Birmingham that also sold dreamcatchers. It was a circular brick-coloured one with zig-zag patterns, probably meant to look ‘ethnic’? A few years later I found some charcoal-dark, pebble-smooth pendant Ocarinas whilst backpacking in China. They look and feel almost naturally formed,...

Cover up?
Back in July, the game rating for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was spotted on Nintendo's official store page. In case you missed it, it's E10+. The title contains "animated blood" and "fantasy violence". Now, in a small update, the rating summary has officially gone live on the Entertainment Software Rating Board...
Opinion I May Never Play The Original Ocarina Of Time Again
A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts
A classic xkcd webcomic came to mind while I watched last week’s Zelda Direct live. In the one-panel comic, two people from the far future (as evidenced by their Jetsons-style bubble ship) say their goodbyes. Here’s the interaction: “Bye!” “May the Force be with you!” “Huh?” “It’s just...

If you are anything like us, the reveal of the special edition Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console last month was quickly followed by the dreaded realisation of "oh no, I need this". Nintendo has put out a new ad for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on its YouTube channel for Japan, showcasing some of the more darker aspects of the upcoming remake.
