Topic: Your top Wiiware Devs

Sega never made any Sonic game to my knowledge. Usually it's either Sonic Team or Dimps.

For me, it has to be Hudson. (Cue Sports, Onslaught, Water Warfare, and Snowboard Riot.)

Shin'en. They used to develop full-fleged retail stuff but they recently put all there effort into WiiWare, and they are some of the best games the service has to offer. I'm looking forward to FAST.

Onteca. Well, they've only done one game that I've even heard of so far, but it's a damn fine one. And from some interviews with them, what I gather about their philosophies and ideas about games, they seem like they could keep doing really excellent work.

EmptyClip Studio. Again, only one game out, but there was a trailer for another game of their's, Symphony, that looked just as promising. Plus, they've got one of the best logos I've ever seen.

Konami is one of the big developers that's actually taken time to make great games for WiiWare. Don't get me wrong, Capcom's MegaMan 9 & 10 are really great, but they aren't exclusive. SquareEnix actually makes top-notch efforts, but they're also way more expensive....and weird spin-offs.

Gaijin Games. I'm a little concerned that they might completely leave WiiWare once their Bit.Trip series is done (one more game!) but it's certainly a lot of excellent support.

Prope. Only one WiiWare game, but it's a good one, and I appreciate there other two games a lot. I hope to see more of what they can do.

Nicalis for Cave Story,
Frontier for LostWinds,
Gaijin for BIT.TRIP, and
Legendo for Pearl Harbor Trilogy Red Sun Rising.

And I predict that Cosmonaut will be on here, too, as soon as I get the money for Dive: The Medes Islands.

There are lot of good WiiWare devs out there, but games I seriously was sucked into were:

• NyxQuest (Over the Top)
• World of Goo (2D Boy)
• Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth (Konami)
• chick chick BOOM (tons of bits) <- played this one every day for 1,5 years...

Pearl Harbor (Legendo) could have become my favorite too, but the game is difficult as hell...

And what the hell is Sonic Team but a rotating group of Sega developers? Nonsense attitude. Presumably Nintendo has never made a Mario game either because they're usually developed by EAD.

EDIT: Nicalis is a maybe. The Cave Story patch made everything perfect, and adding GameCube support was a lovely bonus. I've been waiting on NightSky for years, if that comes out well Nicalis is going on the list.
