Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy another controller for my Wii U, because you can't play combat games like Injustice in 2 players using the Wii controller+nunchuck.

I was wondering if you could share your experience.

I'm having trouble getting a clear answer about the Classic and Pro controller compatibility. I'm looking for a controller that is compatible with the Wii U games, but also with old Wii Games, like MK Armageddon.
I've read on the Wiki that the Pro controller for the Wii U is not compatible with Wii Games. Is that true or are they just saying that it does not work with the old WIi console, but it does work with Wii games played on the WIi U?

What controller should i buy for better compatibility?

The Wii U Pro controller doesn't work with any Wii games, even if you're playing them on a Wii U. The Wii Classic controller is compatible with the Wii U, but not all games support it. This website: https://www.giantbomb.com/wii-classic-controller-support/3015... lists the Wii U and Wii games that support the Classic controller, but Injustice is not on there. I don't know if the list includes every game that's compatible with it, but it seems fairly comprehensive. So I think you'll need a Wii U Pro controller for multiplayer Injustice, but that won't work with Wii games. Pretty much every Wii game is playable with just Wiimote and Nunchuk though.

The Wii u pro controller works only with Wii u games. When playing on the Wii mode the Wii u pro controller will NOT work however the Wii classic controller or the Wii classic controller will work with the Wii and supported Wii u games @dumitrudan608

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

There are some reasons for not having compatibility.
Wii u pro controller has l3/r3 control stick presses.
Wii classic controller has analogue l2/r2 prrssure sensitive buttons (though I have not seen them used)
Wii classic controller pro has neither.

So a game like breath of the wild only has enough buttons to be played on the Wii u pro controller.

What does bother me is the number of games on the Wii and wiiy u that could of easily used the any of the 3 controllers but it was never coded in.

Like the Wii can technically use the Wii u pro controller. I have synced it and had it work in homebrew, but doesn't work on any official games at all. Support on the systems is by game and that's annoying.

The Wii Classic/Classic Pro controller can't be used on Wii U games unless the Wii U games specifically support it through the Wii Remote.

The Wii U pro controller can't be used on any Wii game because it uses Bluetooth as connection (like the Wii Remote) and it is not connected to the Wii Remote like the Wii Classic controller.
