Topic: Zelda Collector's Edition - Majora's Mask Glitches?

I just bought the The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition. More a novelty than a necessity. Anyway, I read a lot about issues with the MM port in this game; low framerate and frequent glitches, even game-freezing glitches. Has anyone experienced these problems with the MM port? If it's really as bad as some say, I think it's safe to create some back-ups while playing.

It had some problems but it is playable.

Yeah, it has some issues with the sound and it froze a couple times during my playthrough, but you're still gonna enjoy that

I did everything you could possibly do in the game and never ran into a problem with it. No freezes or anything. Maybe I'm just lucky.

It ran perfect for me, some of the old glitchs didn't work in the version but you still could do the invisible sword and be FD Link anywhere but that needed a new way to be done.

I have mainly experienced the low framerate, to be fair I'd say Sonic '06 plays better

Thanks! The glitches seem to be a factor of luck.. Hopefully it isn't too bad for me. It's been ages since I've played MM, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I had some minor issues with the sound and the game froze twice when entering the Curiosity Shop at night. Other than that, it plays fine.

Yes, there were audio and framerate issues and a couple of freezing glitches, but the latter were very rare.

As long as it doesn't affect the game too much, I'm fine with that. I'll make sure to save some back-up files just in case.

Also, I just got the game in the mail. I bought it ''used'', but it turned out to be a sealed copy; and they go for as high as £100.00 on Amazon. I guess luck's on my side today.

I experienced audio issues (not really significant) and one game-freezing glitch that was random but quite annoying.

If you decide to open and play instead of just collect, then just be sure to save somewhat frequently. None of those 6-hour play sessions without saving. Frankly, getting a sealed copy is pretty cool though - since the games are easy and relatively inexpensive to play in other formats, I'd be tempted to keep your copy "as is".

No. Going by my personal experience with the game, the "issues" aren't nearly as bad as some drama queens like to pretend.

The audio glitches are well documented. They're rather subtle: brief slowdowns during loading times.

And that's about it. Never froze on me once. Framerate issues? Well, the original had those as well. Couldn't tell, if these were any worse. :shrugs:

Well, I already opened it. I'm not planning to sell my games in the near future, so that's not something I worry about. But it was nice to receive a new game, instead of a scratched used copy of the game.

It seems to be different for everyone. I'm about halfway through Ocarina of Time, and I haven't encountered a single problem in that game. I'll make sure to post it here if anything noteworthy happens during my MM playthrough.

Ocarina, as well as the NES games, works perfect.
Crap, now I can't stop thinking about the retrospective video I used to watch so many times as a child ;(

I never had any glitches per se, but it did repeatedly freeze and crash on me to the point that i couldn't finish playing it on the Collector's Edition disc.
