Topic: Problem with Joycon in Mario kart 8

Hello everyone, this is my first time ever searching for help anything switch related so I'll try to make it brief and easy to understand.

The problem I'm having seems to, for some reason, only be happening in Mario kart 8. Whenever I try to play with both joycons not connected, as in wanting to play local split screen with a friend, the red joycon connects normally when the switch asks to press both buttons, while the blue one doesn't.

There's a few weird things:

1- Only happens in Mario Kart 8, whenever I play Mario Party for example, it works normally.
2- Whenever I press both buttons to make the game detect the joycon for splitscreen, the joycon vibrates and the icon on the screen also shakes, but the controller doesn't connect.
3- Then when I select the already connected joycon to check if it works (Should be the red one) the blue one vibrates, while it's the red one that does everything.

I'm kind of annoyed by this, as nintendo is an extremely unreasonably expensive console and I don't really feel like spending 80€ for a new pair of joycons.

The software is up to date as I connect online frequently, as I said the joycons work normally in other games...so I don't really know what to do.

Anyone got a clue?

@IWonderWhyTho At mario kart 8's main menu, select Multiplayer (2 player, or 3P, 4P). Then pick your mode (Grand Prix, VS, Battle). After you pick the mode, the game will make you re-sync your controllers. At this point, hold the half joycon sideways, and press & hold SL + SR buttons on the joycon rail. After a moment, the half joycon should sync to be used as a half joycon. Do the same with the other half joycon. Hold it sideways, press the S + R buttons on the joycon rail.

@IWonderWhyTho Here's Nintendo Support's directions. If you search Nintendo's support page, you can find directions and troubleshooting for most everything. Nintendo's support page is surprisingly good, if you haven't tried it. (Disregard if you did try the support page and were still stuck. It happens<3) Hopefully your good to go now!

For future gaming, I recommend getting a cheap third-party wire-only controller for games that use the joysticks.

@WoomyNNYes There's my problem, when I'm supposed to press and hold SL + SR on the joycon rails on my blue Joycon, it doesn't connect to Mario kart 8.

I then press the button "-" to show that the joycon is not responsive, and then I see both joycons technically working on the "search joycons via vibration" option.

And there, the weird thing I mentioned happens. When I press "R" on my red Joycon, it does absolutely nothing even if it's the joycon Mario Kart 8 detects.
And when I press "L" on my blue Joycon, the blue one doesn't vibrate but the red one does, even when I'm playing the button from the other joycon.

I don't know if I made my point clear there.

PS: Also, the lights won't turn on in my blue joycon yet it still works for moving and choosing things on the menu.

@IWonderWhyTho If Nintendo support troubleshooting can't solve something, that's a good sign that there's hardware failure somewhere - repair or replacement is needed. If that's the case, I'm sorry to hear. You may want to contact Nintendo support.
