Topic: New Switch -AC Save Transfer question-

So, new Switch arrived after the old one disintegrated.

Now the Animal Crossing save transfer nonsense has me thoroughly confused.
-I downloaded the transfer tool on the source system
-I transfered my account over to the new system to access the eShop there
-Now it won't let me use the transfer tool on the source system

...how much head trauma does one need to come up with such a ridiculously stupid system?
Naturally, i also carried over the SD card already to be able to install AC on the new system, thinking that surely the savefile would remain on the source system...

Maybe it's just not my day today, but what am i missing here? I assume that i messed up and the save file is gone, right?

This is just a guess as I haven't used the AC Transfer Tool myself, but it sounds like it's linked to your account that you transferred so now it refuses to run as that account isn't on the source system any more. If that's the case, it should work if you delete it and redownload it using a new user profile or account. Your save file should be fine whether that works or not, as its tied specifically to the console rather than any account.

I think i'll do what @CinnamonRobin mentioned and create a second account to access the eShop with and see if the save file can be transfered by a different user without the game...because that's on the new system...digitally...

Whoever came up with that nonsense honestly deserves to get fired.
