I recently got a microsdxc card for my Nintendo switch. It asked me to format it so I did so, but then It restarted the switch. and when it turned on it asked me to format the card again. My system is completely up to date and when I check my storage, it says that a microsd is not inserted.

@Alfonso1orjqks I'm not sure what you're missing there. I'd have to ask a bunch of questions that may sound basic or dumb figure out what may be wrong, but I'm about to go to bed. I'll give you as much info as I can, off the top of my head.

If Nintendo Support's pages cant get you going, then you may need to contact them. Forgive me if that sounds cliche. Only a few people answer tech questions in here, and often tech questions can sit for a while unanswered.

If Nintendo support troubleshooting can't solve something, then it's very likely there's a failure with the hardware, or in this case, maybe something wrong with your card. I know that may sound bold, but it's almost always true since I joined here in 2017.

Every once in a while, someone buys one of those ultra cheap (too good to be true) cards on amazon, and they're bogus cards. Although, my guess is you have a legit card.

Is this the same Switch you've been using? Transferring to a new Switch, if you format the card with the new switch then you use a pc to copy games back onto the card, the new Switch will detect the games, and ask you to format the card again. If you remove the games it will accept the formatted card. If you're not transferring to a new switch, disregard.

The advice I read in a tech article was: if you're buying an sd card, make sure it's SanDisk or Samsung. I've bought 3 SanDisk cards off Amazon so far and they've all worked straight out the box. The first one I bought I was hesitant because I didn't know anything about sd cards, so I went with the Nintendo branded SanDisk red mushroom one just to be safe as possible.

Since we have no listing where or what brand of sd card it's anyone guess what happened.
