On July 6, 2016, Nintendo merged the Wii U Developers Program and the Nintendo Developers portals.

Not only do Wii U Developers program members get access to 3DS development software, but the entry requirements have been lowered big time.

Many people have reported successfully signing up, agreeing to the NDA, and accessing the full portal, even without being Wii U Developers Program members!

Go to developer.nintendo.com, register, agree to the NDA, and enjoy complete, easy, and fully authorized access to the site!

Try it for yourself right now!

Whether or not this is just a temporary error in Nintendo's system is yet to be determined.

(so far, one user has had an error when attempting to create an account)

This is both good and bad. Its good because more developers might be persuaded to bring new games to both the 3DS and WiiU. Its bad because it makes it easier for someone to put another Meme Run on the Eshop. shudders

I already have a sickness where I end up buying almost anything that comes to the e-shop. This will be bad for my wallet and my heart to play terrible games.

Oh well it's not like they'll give free dev hardware or manage your finances for you with every subscription... (I mean... Right?)

Even though anyone may be able to register... It doesn't mean they'll magically be able to do anything

Good point, but I have seen some really terrible games in the eshop and it always surprised me how someone managed to make them so bad. I have seen free games on the Kindle or Itunes store that are infinitely more amazing than some of these atrocities people are charging for.

Not all the people with the money to get the kits are good at it. And not all the people with great ideas and motivation have the money.

It's simply much cheaper to develop for mobile, so those with ideas but no money will go there.
