Topic: Should Nintendo Open More First-Party Studios

do you think the big n should open more first party studios, or do you think they should just stay with the studios they have, what do YOU think, leave a comment in the comment section below

Third party is their problem. Anyone can just hire more developers.

Though perhaps if they did have another studio, or used their current devs more efficiently, we might have a Star Fox, F-Zero, new IP (I know crazy idea!), and a Pikmin less than eight years later, etc etc.

But they are plenty successful with their current business model of making money with the least amount of effort, so there's nothing to indicate anything will change.

They could be working on them right now.

Yes. Set up/hire some studios to work on Star Fox/F-Zero/Metroid/etc. while they work on their silly party games.

I've been agreeing with you a lot lately.

I would have to say yes, but as long as they make sure these new first party devs are more than up to the task. Retro Studios proved they were more than capable, and generally fans expect Nintendo First-party titles to be of top quality and generally must-get titles. I'd hate to see another Starfox Adventures, which was developed by Rare at a time when they were seen as one of the greatest developers, so they'd need to constantly keep an eye on these studios.

They are already making a new studio for "new IPs" apparently. Set to open late next year and will have "Younger developers fresh out of universities" or something like that. I can find the link, but I'm too lazy to search.. It was reported last fall...

But they'll announce it all soon, I swear! lol

Thats the team that miyamoto will have. Im not surr if ites actually going to be anew studio or just anlther branch of intelligent systems or EAD tokyo.
