Nope, not a hater. Just want to see a mid-major win a major college championship. If nothing else to piss off the NCAA that does nothing but favor the big conferences (especially in football), and the corporate suits who make college sports a big-business money grab. Plus, I just admire Butler making it this far two straight years with such odds against them as a small school and think Blue II is so adorable.

Got nothing against UConn though. I cheered for them in 1999 against Duke. But, they've had their titles in men's and women's. Butler has no title in any sport, and mid-majors need this.

Sad thing is, there'll never be a chance like this for a small school in college football, because the NCAA and BCS will never allow it. Too many millions out of too many pockets for them if a Boise State had a chance like this and won. Like to see Butler win this for the little guys in sports and everywhere, who get the screws put to them regularly by "The Man".

Butler starting to stink up the court in the second half. Looks like they might fold after teasing the mid-majors and the little guy with the prospects of a national title... again. They lose again, I'm not going to be fooled by a THIRD run at it next year. Of course Butler REALLY wouldn't make it this far, perhaps even make the tournament, when they're going to lose some seniors and maybe Mack to the draft. Bye bye Butler's first sports title and mid-major's first major college championship.

'bout 10 minutes to your 3rd title, WhoKnew. And the dubious distinction of losing two straight title games for Butler. One as an underdog, one as a favorite.

My Tulsa Golden Hurricanes could've beaten Butler tonight. Call the Humane Society. This should be considered cruelty against underdogs. hmmm, what sports movie franchises do we have to apply to a third Butler championship try next year? LOL

Well, UConn won. My prediction from the beginning, but I'm not happy about it since I actually wanted to see the Bulldogs win it.

Any Indianans out there, my heart goes out to you. All the "Hoosiers" hype attributed to Butler, only for them to get crushed and not even come close to a win. And the Butler kids who've become the first consecutive title game loser since the Michigan Fab Five... Dear God I can't imagine how they feel. Congrats to UConn on another title. But, you're sure going to see a lot of people longer in the face than usual tomorrow morning, who wanted to see the underdog triumph in the end for a change. Helps you realize that's only fairy tale/movie stuff.

I could have posted this years, but I didn't. Hope to see you all here again next year for 2012 March Madness. Congrats UConn. You won't be so lucky next year.

I'm really not that disappointed. It was clear from the outset that UConn was the better team, and Butler's defense was good, but their offense was poor. I'm still glad that they made it this far again, but it's true that there'll be a lot of disappointment here in Indiana today. Thing is, Butler really wasn't the underdog this time because everyone expected them to win, including me. But, some things aren't meant to be.

I kind of wonder if all the pressure to be the miracle Milan "Hoosiers" team got to Butler. All the talk about destiny, and fairy tale endings (from sentimental fools like me LOL), the weight of representing the mid-major's great hope and I guess about all of America (except Connecticuit) wanting them to win. Comparisons to Rocky and about every sports movie franchise in the book. Just wonder if all that was running through their mind as they were taking their shots last night. If it was, we see the outcome. One of the worst title game performances ever.

Sad thing is, schools like Butler don't just reload again for next year. Could be 10 years before they're even back in the tournament and in their school's entire history, apparently they don't have a title in any sport. They may never win a title in ANYTHING, much less basketball. Hope they do, though. A nightmare scenario for the Dukes, UNCs and Kentuckys of the world is going ONE year out of the tournament. For the Butlers and VCUs, it's possibly DECADES out of the tourney. I can't remember the last time my Tulsa University went to the big dance. 2000, I think.

The one hope for the little guy is that the elite schools are just a stop for gas on the way to the NBA for the biggest recruits. They take one shot at the title with (insert elite school's name here), because they have to "suffer" through a year of college by NBA rules before going pro and making their millions. Means years like this where the powers are depleted and mid-majors stand a chance. Even then they can't get it done, though.

I can't believe it's now 24 years since the state of Indiana won a men's championship. Thank God for the women of Purdue and Notre Dame, huh (they might get title number 2 tonight).

Well, through with college basketball (for now). Teams I want to see win it all never do, so blah. Time to follow my hot/cold Colorado Rockies who'll stink up the diamond until September, when it may/may not be too late for one of their historic winning streaks to make a difference!

Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D
