Mai is the newest member of the Nintendo Life team. You can often find her either wreaking havoc in Animal Crossing or simply surviving the wastelands in Fallout.
I was introduced to games early by Dad but it wasn’t until the late 2000s that I realised you can actually have a career in the games industry. Although Acting was my first love, gaming was always a very close second eventually taking over my life entirely. I suppose the combination of the two is the reason why I love RPGs and narrative driven games so much!
Experience
Before joining the Nintendo Life team in 2026, Mai worked briefly for Raw Fury as one of their Community Ambassadors. She’s been slowly working towards a career in the games industry whether it meant selling and recommending games in retail, trying to be an actorin games or making videos on her own YouTube channel and streaming on Twitch.

Expertise
Mai started her love of gaming with the Amiga 500 and would often play games like Rod Land and Apprentice with her older sister. This led to the family upgrading to the Sega Mega Drive and then the inevitable snatching up of a PlayStation. This is where Mai’s love of classic platformers, RPGs and action adventure games began. Her love of Nintendo however, began when she was given a Game Boy Color with Pokemon Blue for Christmas and she hasn’t looked back since.
Along with most Nintendo handhelds, Mai has either owned or played most systems ranging from Xbox, PlayStation to her trusty gaming PC.
I’m very much a sucker for a good story with branching narratives, so I suppose it’s unsurprising how much I love RPGs. Saying that, I often find it difficult to dislike most game genres. I’m always happy to give anything a try, just so I have experienced it. It might be why my backlog is so large.
