The anime streaming service Crunchyroll has announced its app for the Nintendo Switch will no longer be available as of 30th October 2026.

This app originally arrived on the eShop in 2022. In an email, Crunchyroll has thanked users for being part of the community on the Switch. In the same message, it's mentioned how the "Crunchyroll experience continues everywhere else":

"The Crunchyroll app for Nintendo Switch will no longer be available beginning October 30, 2026.

"The good news: The Crunchyroll experience continues everywhere else. You can still stream the world's largest dedicated anime library on crunchyroll.com, the Crunchyroll mobile app, and more than 30 other global and regional platforms and devices - with the same account and subscriptions you already have."

Apart from mobile devices, Crunchyroll can be accessed on computers, televisions and other gaming platforms. One system it's not been made available on is the Switch 2, so if we hear any updates about this, we'll let you know.
