Regarding just one of the recent comments sections (https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/switch-eshop/shiftlings_-_enhanced_edition#comment4346961), it got me thinking.
NL comments used to be about the topic at hand and not meta-discussions, discussions about other things, and people insulting each other. I would prefer if all such comments were removed just to set a precedent (would that work? things do seem to flame up easily), without bans or anything.

Honestly that sounds like a massive job for mods so I understand why it's not done, and people might be offended if their opinion is removed. So rather than a call to action, I'd like to hear your perspectives on this issue.

I think such community guideline issues (that were brought up in the linked comment section) should be discussed in the forums rather than comments sections. And while national/international politics are naturally more important to many people than "games", I feel such topics are best discussed in other arenas.

@Blueberry Well, that's why we have a report button. I don't really follow the comment sections, because there are a lot of articles, and even more comments. I'm personally not a fan of deleting comments if they're harmless. It feels like unnecessary censorship. But if a comment section gets out of hand, use the report button, we'll get notified and we can see if there's an issue.

@Octane Ok, it's good to know you won't ban irrelevant comment posters if reported. Thanks for sharing your view.
