Re: Mighty No. 9 Studio Comcept Facing Fan Backlash Over Community Manager Appointment

@HugoSmits

First off, it is "ignorant" not ignorance

Secondly, as a gamer, I have enjoyed your games, and purchased two of them (Flipper and Color Commando).

Lastly, your personal bias is showing. Your examples of how things are between men and women, the expectations put upon men, those things are not exactly how society works anymore. Far more women are the "bread providers" for families than in the past (at 77% of their male counterparts pay rate - U.S. stat - I realize this is an international website); and women, believe it or not, do actually ask men out. Next time, try your best to make your statement with less generalizations, and old fashioned beliefs.

This comment section is an embarrassment. The amount of ignorance, misinformation, generalizations (based off of personal experience instead of statistical data), stereotyping, and sexism on display is astounding.

As a gamer, and especially as an educator, I am ashamed of some of the things said in this comment section. Has the education system failed at such a level that people truly believe we live in a utopian society? Where all struggle, and hardships are an individuals own problem, rather than an ongoing systemic societal bias?

Yes, things are getting better in general for everyone, but to say that sexism no longer exists, or that everyone is equal so women shouldn't stand up for their rights is ridiculous. Women on average make over $11,000 less annually then their male counterparts.

($49,398 men vs. $37,791 women)

But that isn't even what this article is about. The insecurities of several backers is what this is about. Whether or not she is political, if she does her job, that is all that matters. If she turns out to be a terrible designer for the game, complain about that, not her politics.

Seriously people, educate yourselves.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Appearance at VGX Underwhelmed, But the Show Itself Was Far Worse

@LordGeovanni
When people generalize an entire genre of music, it's obvious they don't really listen to it. If you are implying that all hip-hop is like Waka Flocka, Soulja Boy, or French Montana, then you are severely misinformed. There are plenty of worthwhile hip-hop acts that rap without cussing up a storm (when was this an issue anyways - just about all genres have artists who cuss), and discuss topics other than money, clothes, and other cliche topics. I am not going to list the multitude of hip-hop artists who fit into this large category because you obviously don't care about the genre. But, I had to say something, because I can't stand by as ignorance is wholly displayed as fact (i.e. "98% of the time").

As for the award show, it was ridiculously bad, but I don't think Joel is the one to blame. The horrible jokes he read off the teleprompter weren't his, they were written by some notoriously bad writers that attempted to make the jokes fit Mchale. They came off dry and humorless because Joel saw them for what they were - unintelligent, stereotypical low brow jokes, and delivered them unenthusiastically.

Lastly, whoever thinks Joel was making fun of gamers because he is a non-gamer, you are wrong. See below:

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Fifteen

aesupreme1

This weekend is all about finishing games released this year. I tend to play games mostly from my backlog, but after finishing Tomb Raider last night, I want to continue the trend of playing recently released titles. Thus, the following games will receive my attention:

PS3: The Last of Us - I have been playing this title alongside Tomb Raider for the past two months, and I am eager to see how it all ends.

Wii U: Lego City Undercover - I bought this on launch day, proceeded to play it for 2 1/2 hours, and enjoyed the hell out of it. Then, I never touched it again. I don't know why...this weekend will rectify that situation.

3DS: Luigi's Mansion - I love this game, but I am playing through it slowly. I wanted a sequel to this game for so long, I don't want the experience to be over quickly. Thankfully, this game is actually much longer than its predecessor.

Re: Nintendo Unleashes an Awesome Sizzle Reel of Upcoming Wii U eShop Titles

aesupreme1

Lots of good stuff in there, I am interested in several of those. I'm a sucker for old school 2D platforming games, thus Giana Sisters, and Wooden Sen' Sey look really good. Others that caught my eye include Festival of Magic, Lttle Dew, and Teslagrad. I hope most of those games get a U.S. release as well, or I am going to be a sad gamer.

Re: Nintendo Reveals The 2013 Club Nintendo Elite Rewards

aesupreme1

@Prof_Elvin_Gadd I agree, the Mario themed statue is awesome. I have qualified for platinum status every year since the Reward's inception, and this is the first year that I'm not sure what to choose. The awards are decent, yet nothing is really sticking out. I love the Wind Waker poster (within the 3 poster set), but I already have too many posters from utilizing my Club Nintendo points. Thus, I think I may just pick up the Club Nintendo Calendar this year.

Re: First Impressions: Super Mario 3D World

aesupreme1

Super Mario 3D Land is among my favorite Mario games of all time; so although I was disappointed that the new 3D Mario wasn't going in a new direction, I'm more than happy it's a new iteration of a 3DS stunner. Does Nintendo Life forget their own 9/10 rating for 3D Land?

I understand the concern in which Nintendo is playing it safe with their games this fall. I would love to see Nintendo drop at least 3 new i.p.'s (built from the ground up for Wii U) over the next couple of years. But the reality is, Nintendo has a wealth of i.p,'s to recreate, and they'll most likely make a new Starfox or F-Zero before they make an all new i.p.

Re: Hideki Konno Delves Into Mario Kart 8

aesupreme1

Even though this wasn't my most anticipated game from Nintendo, this was the one that stood out among the games. The hover racing is an awesome new addition, and will make tracks within the game more unique. Also, this game seemed to be one of the games that showed off the power of the Wii U when comparing it to Mario Kart Wii.

Re: Mighty Switch Force! 2 Blazing Into The North American 3DS eShop Next Week

aesupreme1

I bought the first Might Switch Force day one, and although I really enjoyed my experience with it, I will have to wait a couple of months to pick this up. With Animal Crossing this week (purchasing the game for me, and the A.C. bundle as a late mother's day gift for my girlfriend), and Super Luigi U in two weeks, I have to limit my purchases this month to a select few.

Re: Nintendo Direct Wii U Summary Released by NoA

aesupreme1

I can't believe people are up in arms over the name Wara Wara plaza. There is nothing wrong with having a little bit of culture/language foreign to your own integrated within the Wii U. If you don't like the name, don't say it. But there is no reason to get angry over a name. Lastly, I like it.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

aesupreme1

I remember 100%ing this game and feeling the most relieved, and satisfied of any Mario game I have mastered (before and after). One particular level had me die more than any other game - the secret pinball level. It really takes a lot for me to yell at a t.v. screen, and I was yelling at the t.v. for an hour straight until I beat that hellish level. I went from yelling in frustration, to exclamations of joy

By the way, Super Mario Sunshine was an awesome game that definitely deserves the recognition it is getting today on NintendoLife.

Re: Nintendo Power Magazine Will End With December Issue

aesupreme1

My subscription ends in a month, so I will definitely pick up the last couple of issues at my local news stand. Regardless of whether the magazine content was geared towards adults or a younger audience doesn't matter; it was a dedicated gaming magazine that will no longer be produced, and it's frustrating to see a part of gaming culture disappear.

I definitely enjoy browsing news immediately on the internet, but I also enjoy getting my monthly fix in the mail. It may be old school, but I still enjoy reading gaming magazines.

Re: Sumo Digital Declares Wii U Capabilities to be "On Par" or Better Than PS3

aesupreme1

@kingofe3 Thank you. I posted a response similar to yours on another website about this. It's ridiculous how one website's misinformation (Eurogamer) can have the snowball effect on the internet.

NintendoLife, please do some additional research on your articles before continuing to spread flawed info. This is my main go to site for Nintendo goodness...please keep your standards high.

Re: Warner Bros. Gets the Party Started With Game Party Champions On Wii U

aesupreme1

Why dismiss a game when you haven't seen it in motion yet? Yes, it is another party game, but there are a lot of gamers that enjoy this type of game. Eliminating purchasing options for the gamer/consumer is not the way to do business, and Nintendo is not about to eliminate casual gaming from their consoles because "gamers" don't want to see it on the system.

Re: Rumour: The Darkness II Planned for Wii U

aesupreme1

As someone who played through the entirety of The Darkness, I am excited that the sequel is coming to the Wii U. The demo was not indicative of the entire game, as it was a fresh take on the FPS genre. In addition, the original had a great story that actually made you care about the characters within the game (particularly the girlfriend Jenny).

Although the sequel is being produced by a different company, the game looks good from the preview videos released thus far. Finally, regardless of whether you like the game or not, the more 3rd party developers at launch, the better...
