Among Us' cultural saturation has reached new highs, as it was announced today that the social deduction game would be getting a one-off manga adaptation in the February edition of Bessatsu Corocoro, a monthly Japanese manga magazine.

"How on earth," you might ask, "can they turn Among Us into a manga?" Well, it wouldn't be the first time that someone has dramatised the story - this short film has over 11 million views, turning the goofy murder-your-friends game into a genuinely tense thriller:
The magazine will be available in Japan on the 4th February, 2022, but we don't know where it'll be set, or if it will come out in other languages. If anyone manages to grab a copy, let us know what the story is!

Some people are going to call it cringe, which ok, a little bit, But come on! this is pretty cool!
I can't wait to see the end result.
WHAT?!? WHAT THE [expletive redacted]
One thing's for sure. Whatever mangaka signs on to do this will be wasting their artistic talent.
Not a knock against the game itself, but it does look to have very barebones (and yet kinda ugly) art direction
I suppose if League can make money off their “lore”, why not Among Us.
@RR529 To be fair, there are many manga artists who specialize in collaborations like this (especially in the Corocoro magazine). A good artist can make something nice even out of simple designs.
Amangas!
(not my best play on words, but I'm sticking with it.)
@CharlieGirl Oh my god yes! Thats what we're calling it from now on, Amangas!
Honestly, good for them! I know these moves have that initial "Are you serious?..." reaction for IPs where the memes become bigger than the IP itself, but this actually allows them a chance to break through that.
Kinda like how "Sans Undertale" started eclipsing Undertale itself until Deltarune course corrected that. Still a lot of memes, but the variety staves off the derivativeness.
Honestly the whole point of among us is being goofy and fun so having a manga adaptation for giggles could work
I would prefer an Henry Stickmin one, honestly
@YuzuRibbon Link?
@YuzuRibbon Thanks.
Considering the game play of among us and how a normal game takes about 5-15 minutes to finish (My personal record being 1 second because the impostor left), I wonder how long the manga will be.
@RR529 This manga magazine is specialized on children manga. And a lot of them are relatively good manga for kids, from Zoids, Doraemon, Pokemon, Fortnite, and even Minecraft manga adaptation.
Saying "a waste of talent" is too far, since a lot of mangaka actually enjoy working on this magazine.
@kurisu07 Say what? fortnite manga?
Seems a bit sus, if you ask me.
@RR529 completely agree. Probably one of the ugliest games I've ever seen which alone makes me completely uninterested
