Super Mario RPG: How To Defeat Bundt

As if things couldn't get more ridiculous in Super Mario RPG — you're fighting an actual cake this time around. Bundt is a fairly simple boss to take down if you know what you're doing. And fortunately, we do, and we're here to help.

How to beat Bundt

Recommended party: Mario, Geno, Bowser

When the fight begins, ignore the other enemies and start attacking the big cake with standard moves. Eventually, the cake will start moving and the real fight will start!

In this next phase, you’ll need to blow out all the candles. One attack blows out one candle, even if you don’t press the command button to increase its power. You'll probably end up defeating the Torte chefs if your Action Command timing is good.

Bundt can use powerful Sandstorm and Blizzard spells and inflict Fear on your party. It can also use an extremely strong spell called Diamond Saw, which only targets a single character at a time. If you’ve been opening Hidden Treasures, you should have plenty of Croaka Cola / Kerokero Cola to heal your whole party up at once.

When all the candles have been blown out, your attack will eventually knock off the top layer of the cake and leave only the bottom layer. When you’ve dealt enough damage, Booster and his minions will arrive and end the battle.
