Lol I got a phone call from my bank checking on "suspicious activity". I rang them up to see what it was, and it was just the Xbox pre-order.

They didn't explain exactly what was suspicious about it though. Maybe they thought the PS5 was the obvious choice?

Did you get that from somewhere you don't usually shop, @Dezzy ....? Or maybe just because of the amount? It's better that they do check such things & you confirm it than you have to sort it out in the other case, though!

Yeah, got it from the Microsoft store. Never bought anything from there.

I did have my account details stolen a few years back though, so maybe they've put me in some elevated risk status or something, where they respond to anything that seems out of the ordinary.

I got a fraud warning from my bank so told them it was fine but now i'm worried that my Series S order wont go through

Yeah, just it being from a store you hadn't used before, especially for such an amount, is enough, @Dezzy .... I've had similar checks from my banks for smaller orders! I'd rather they do check as it could be a real pain sorting it out if it wasn't

Well mine had already gone through, and they just check after the fact. So I'm hoping it doesn't cause any trouble like that.

I changed my payment option to Paypal and got an email saying a payment was pending so hopefully it's ok now

Forza Horizon 4 in 60fps I think will be the closest thing there is to a next-gen experience on launch day!

But how is the grass and bushes? Needs 6k supersampling.

@Ryu_Niiyama the official fast food of Xbox tough. Sony exclusives like burger king are better. Xbox has no fries.

@NEStalgia, typical Sony Pony ignores the existence of Nacho Fries. Sure, they're no longer available since the servers went down, but they were much better than Burger King's alternative.

I'll bet you have an excuse for Burger King's failed Taco exclusive. It was a bigger flop than Knack! 😜

The Xbox store says November 9th launch for Gears Tactics, I wonder if digital gets it a day early then. We're getting pretty close to that day.

Sea of Thieves will be 4K60fps on Series X and 1080p60fps on Series S.

That's quite a few examples now where Series S is 1080p rather than the supposed 1440p. To be honest, I was kinda suspecting the 1440p was a bit of an aspiration that they would often fall short on, in the same way Xbox One was aiming for 1080p, but ended up being 900p so often.

Fine with me though, I still don't have any monitor/TV that goes above 1080p anyway!

Your claims about reduced storage space being taken up because of more efficient hard drives, are not holding up very well so far:

Cold War requires even more space on SeriesS/X than it does on PC, and significantly more than the current gen versions. If there are any optimizations based on more efficient storage, it seems like they're being completely marginalized by the higher storage needed for high-res textures and whatnot.

Possible this improves over time though of course, as they learn how to pack data more efficiently, and move away from cross-gen games.

@RR529 At least burger king try tries new things. Taco bell has no menu exclusives, just the same old stale tacos and chalupas over and over! And at least at burger king i get to own my food. Taco bell wants me to just pay to rent it. It may be $0.99 but that's not a value if it just goes down the toilet an hour later! I'm glad to pay $4.70 for a whopper i own, even if it won't fit in the next microwave i own. I don't want to reheat yesterday's whoppers anyway, i bought a new microwave to eat new burgers! Plus burger kings fryers are twice the speed, clearly the food is better.
