Topic: Splatoon 3

@Octane That's been my experience with Series battles lately. I've lost five rank up battles so far from A+ to S- due to either communication errors or just bad teams and then after that I go on a bad run of only winning 0-1 per series for a while regardless of how well I play.

Been having a fun time in Open with a friend though, mostly having pretty good wins. I have enough ranking points for three more attempts at a rank up battle now so I look forward to losing all those later.

If you want to earn money, ranked is not the ideal mode. Outside of Salmon Run, Turf War is the fastest way. You get coins equal to your points (Turf painted) The more you paint the more money you get. Plus, if you win you get 1000 points on top. For excample you win the match and painted 1000 poins, you will get 1000+1000 - in total 2000 money. In Ranked your paint doesn't determine your poins and it's far less. So if you use money multiplier it's best to play Turf War.

The gear you can get in Salmon Run changes monthly. It was that way in Splatoon 2.

Anyone finding Salmon Run more difficult than in Splatoon 2? I'm at Part-Timer rank and I'm struggling more than Splatoon 2 Profreshional.

@Grumblevolcano The new bosses add another layer to deal with and I'm finding myself caught without ink a little more due to the egg throwing mechanics but aside from that I've been faring mostly okay even at Eggsecutive VP rank. I think we've also had some pretty tricky weapon rotations though. The next few could be a bit easier to deal with.

@BenAV I am S+ in Splatoon 2, but stuck in B in 3.

@Octane I wonder if it could be due to the option to keep the same team together during a series. Good teams would be more likely to stick together for multiple matches which probably increases the chances of being placed on a weaker team and/or getting matched up against a stronger team.

@Dev9417 The Grizzco weapons actually do exist in 3, they're just not in any of the foreseeable rotations for whatever reason. This current one is yikers though, I'll give you that (I love having a slow Roller flick when I'm getting swarmed by Salmonid!). Still managed to get all the bonuses but still: bleh.

Turf Wars Regular Battle all over played so far but the only annoyance is when a player quits/disconnects mid Match and the round ends before times up

Am I just unlucky, or is it absolutely ridiculous how many matches you all get kicked from because "one or more players left" blah blah? It feels like it's every other match at the moment for me. It's really frustrating.

I understand why they made the change, because it sucked in prior games in the series where 4 vs 3 teams would see the smaller team get annihilated, but this is still very frustrating.

@Reprise It'd happen maybe like 1/10 games at most for me.

@Joyenator3000 So, I tried the demote button in Salmon Run. I was Profreshional 1, or plain Profresional. It let me demote myself twice in a row. First demotion was to bottom of Profresional . Second time demoted me to Profreshional Part-timer. The only logic I can think of is, I can't demote myself farther than Pro Part-timer. Unless there's some other metric at play for demotion allowances.

I really want the yellow Salmon Run suit. I've got 6 of the ten silver scales needed.

@Fizza Good game. I'd stick around for more but it's 6:30am here so that error must be the game telling me to go to bed.

@BenAV I must have just had an unlucky streak. To be fair, I have just had a really good run this evening and played about 10 matches and only 1 ended because of a player disconnecting, so 1/10 is probably about right. I had found it was really frequent earlier in the day.

I was playing some Tower Control matches earlier on and dude: I really want to min-max the hell out of some of these weapons. Namely: Blaster. I'm already thinking up Gear loadouts for it for the future such as:

• High amount of Intensify Action (not just good for Squid Roll/Surge but it also greatly helps their jump RNG which is absolutely fantastic for it so yeah, definitely essential)
• Medium to High amount of Quick Respawn/Super Jump (in the matches I played, I noticed that I'd have to basically get very up close and personal between the Blaster's shorter range, special requiring you to be very close to your teammates and generally being in the action frequently, leading to me dying constantly as I traded with the other team. Because of this, using a decent amount of QR/SJ to get me back into the action as quickly as possible would be nice. I can use less and less the better I get at the game but for now, 1 Main and maybe 2-3 subs would be ideal)
• Small amount of Special Charge Up (in Tower Control only. Having a Big Bubbler for the tower is absolutely crucial when playing Blaster so having a piece of gear dedicated for that mode with a bit of SCU, maybe with an even split of it and Special Saver chucked in there as well)

And that's only for the Blaster! I've plans for other weapons like the Mini Splatling, Splatan Stamper, Dualie Squelchers and so many more. I'll wait till the game's a bit older so that I have a better idea of how the meta develops but I'm so excited to go full on competitive this time round. Murch is gonna have his work cut out for him this time round.....

Ohmygod, I beat After Alterna, the secret hard level. I can't believe how long that thing is. It only took forever, and 100-150 lives. I now have corresponding badge for which pure street cred can be displayed.

@Fizza If you look at the right wall of the locker room, have you checked out friend's lockers? The inside of my locker is on-trend, now, I believe. 😁

Can lockers be viewed in the Salmon Run lobby?

I just had my third communication error in a row attempting to get into a battle… pain.

@Octane I can relate to this. It took me forever to move out of the B tiers this time around. In comparison, I moved through the S ranks pretty swiftly. This is partly due to… simply getting better at the game and familiarising myself with 3’s nuances, but also, the fact that most players in the S ranks generally have more game sense was a massive advantage.

They cannot. Our lockers are only in the regular lobby.

95 points ahead in a Clam Blitz rank up battle and I get a communication error and lose the game. Why does this seem to happen to me almost every single time I try to do a rank up battle when it almost never happens otherwise?

Edit: Won three consecutive games after the drop to take out the series 3-2. Only took seven tries but finally reached S.
