@Pizzamorg I wouldn't say the lack of gyms is a "missing feature", given Gyms have no reason to exist in a region that's barely established, without pokemon trainers, and one of the main reasons Legends exists is to get out of that 8 Gym formula.
Edit: Also, you really want them to bring back hallways that lead from point A to B, without anything to come back to, or any branching paths? Since that's what Routes became after Gen 6. Just linear halls that guide you from the beginning of the game to the end, only serving to railroad the player, as well as make the regions feel way smaller than they should be.

Eh, semantics.
The point is that there is no gym equivalent here. They've taken gyms out and not filled it in with any equivalent. They've added in Nobles, but they don't test your Pokemon Team. So if you want to not call it gyms and instead call it Legends Strong Squad Teams or whatever we can do, but there needs to be an actual gameplay replacement for the missing gyms/Elite Four etc
@Pizzamorg The (Heavy story spoilers incoming for both main and post-game.) Volo fight was legit akin to a champion battle, and he has 7 pokemon to boot instead of 6. You also battle a few trainers in Hisui as well before you're allowed to get your ride pokemon or fight the Nobles, so your team does get tested.

Oh yeah I just got to that fight. They kicked me ass over and over again, lol. I really need to grind out some XP so I can beat them. I think I have the right combination of 'Mons, just not high enough levels. Don't really know an efficient way to grind XP here though, so I am just kinda dossing around in the world. I would love more of these battles, as it has been the only challenging battle I've had in the whole game where my team feel tested. That means absolutely none in the regular game.
@Pizzamorg Yeah, I feel like they really just need more battles akin to that, or at least difficulty modes that allow you to make battles harder. If they can let you skip redundant tutorial portions, they should be able to allow players to also change the difficulty of a fight.

I mean given those bandits/clan traitors had their own Pokemon, you could easily write in that there are these powerful warriors roaming the wild lands with their Pokemon to give you some actual Pokemon battles to overcome in DLC. Especially with the feudal Japan energy.
So I've found 3 shinies in this game so far and somehow 2 of them are Glalie. I haven't even reached 10 research points for this one yet so it's still the base 1 in 4096 chance, and I wasn't hunting for them either. On top of this I've spent by far the least amount of time in Alabaster Icelands.
On the bright side, the newest one I caught is an Alpha.
@Pizzamorg That'd be cool if a DLC had a new battle facility for post-game, full of trainers from other corners of the world, who gathered in Hisui to either settle or to check out Jubilife. (Story spoilers) Ingo lets you fight trainers you previously fought, so it'd be cool if he ran his own thing.

Hisui hosts the first ever Pokemon Battle tournament with people coming from all around to test their skills, building the foundation which would go on to the gym system, allowing you to playthrough that. How cool would that be for DLC.
@Pokester99 neither game is open world (though both games are "open world-like" if you want to think so), and how much fun the battles are is entirely up to the player.
They released two similar, but different styles of games in short succession. The options are there.
@Pokester99 I never said there was. Maybe in the future.
Legends has large areas to explore, but it gates most of the world behind menus, progression and pokemon abilities.
You become free to explore it all after unlocking everything, but it's not that much different in terms of how the world becomes "open" in Diamond and Pearl once you have all the HMs.
Hello,
Can someone trade me spare Cyndaquil that I wanna use in Story Play. If you wanna some kinda Pokémon for it just tell me and I check if I can catch and trade.
Thank you in advance for help!

@Eel No, I disagree. Graphics asside, Legends would have been the perfect Pokemon game had it incorporated the Sword and Shield style of battles and challenges, including online play.
At this point your just asking for semi-open world sword and shield, if you don't like the game great, but your saying the game is bad because its not a pokemon, you can get almost any were else, I don't get why you think every pokemon game needs to be the same, let alone suit your needs.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Sdelintwouters : If you want the goodies but don’t care for those games, you can just briefly borrow/use a copy of each of those games from a friend, boot them all up once (you should only need to generate save data on the console itself; you won’t actually need to play or save within the actual games at all), and boom, “save data” for all three games.
Porygon did nothing wrong.

@Pokester99 I just don’t get why you get a game, that made it very clear it wasn’t going to have online let alone be competitive, then complain about it, it sucks but it was meant to be a solo player game.
It almost feels like if I got hollow knight, but then got mad I have to explore.
And I’m not saying one can’t buy a game thinking it’s going to be like one thing, and then come out disappointed, not at all, but it just feels like your complaining about a problem, that you knew was going to be a problem?
Idk, maybe that’s a a lot of assuming on my part, you might have not known any of this. And no one is saying you can’t have a opinion, in fact I’m pretty sure everyone here knows you don’t like the game, but people disagree with your opinion, and of course defend there’s.
Then again, idk how you feel, I can’t tell you what you should like, how you like it, or why, I just don’t agree/understand it.
