Could we try to keep the hyperbolic complaints about the post game a little bit more spoiler free? Some of us haven't gotten there yet.

Are you talking to me? I deliberately kept my post spoiler free.

@Pizzamorg Nah, the story got better. They actually built up to the character being a villain this time around. It was pretty well foreshadowed for a pokemon game.

???

In what sense?

Well now I know there's a heel turn, and so far there's only one character that has been suspicious.

It's the merchant isn't it

Do you want me to answer you? Or is this a rhetorical question?

@Pizzamorg for one, he actually follows you around the main story, popping up about every time you collect a plate. At the end he’s asked about the Ginko guild, and lets on like he wasn’t apart of it, before saying he was. He asks about the red chain, asking about what else it could bind aside from the world itself. There were some pretty big signs, and probably more that flew over my head. They relied on people knowing Cynthia in order to mask the dude’s true intentions and make him seem innocent.

But he says he wants to use Arceus to remake the world or something. Where did that come from? I can accept he seems kinda suss throughout the game, but nothing about him said he wanted to do generic destroy the world villain things. 0 to 60 bonkers, complete with a ridiculous outfit change.

@Pizzamorg his motives were a bit eh, since they didn’t do a great job at developing the world recreation part, but it was supposed to Mirror what Cyrus did at the end of Platinum, and supposed to be apart of the history Cyrus came upon in order to form his own plan. I wish they showed Volo’s struggles a bit more, but I kind of get why he wanted to recreate the world. Pokemon are dangerous creatures, and during that time people struggled because of them. Until you came around, people feared them and people died from them. I guess he wanted to eliminate suffering and make a world where pokemon never existed.

@roy130390 From the games I played, yes, it would be, It just has everything I have been wanting pokemon to be, I have always wanted real time combat, And make me feel like a trainer, because you really do raise these pokemon.

Would be nice if literally any of that was in the game lol

@Pizzamorg Yeah, they did a good job foreshadowing the twist, but I wish they did more regarding the motive. They did kind of imply something with him having the blood of the ancient Sinnoh people, all because Cognita looking similar to him, and they do foreshadow his obsession to Arceus with him standing in the cave while you go to Spear Pillar, watching from the side-lines. They had everything aside from motive.

This game loves missing out the most important ingredient.

Life to the living, death to the dead.

VoidofLight

@Pizzamorg That’s all pokemon titles when it comes to plot. They need new writers. Even Sword and Shield’s plot missed with the intentions of their villain.

@Pokester99 To be fair, any good player wouldn't have a problem with upgrading gear.

But at least the game is fun, I rather lose difficulty, unless thats its trademark, for more fun.

@Pokester99 Eh, if the DLC offers more in terms of fun gameplay, I'd probably get it.

Troll_Decimator

@Pokester99 That's some odd logic there, why don't you wait for the DLC to be announced before you decide if you want it or not? I get not wanting another zone that plays the exact same, definitely, but why does it have to be either one of the two things you mention or bust? I mean, with that mindset you will be disappointed 100% of the time.

I mean, if you're expecting something like the Battle Frontier in a game before pokemon trainers, let alone a modern pokemon game, you're going to be disappointed.

Troll_Decimator

@Pokester99 If you knew what you wanted, you wouldn't have bought Pokemon Legends, we can read your old posts you know, they are not suddenly deleted when the game comes out. What you're supposed to do is wait for the content to be revealed and then evaluate if you like it or not, rather than say "if it doesn't have this, I'm out". It might have 5 other things that are even better and you haven't even thought about.

I'm rarely fussed with DLC, since I've usually moved on to other games by the time it comes out. I'm very much a 'one and done' gamer. I haven't even gone back and completed the final boss of MH Rise, since it was patched in after I'd moved on from the game after I got tired of farming Narwa for the endgame talisman grind.

Currently Playing on January 13, 2026: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (PC)

Pizzamorg

I'd buy DLC if it had all the missing features like gyms, characters, a story, routes with trainer battles etc but if it is just another field to aimlessly wander around in some number go up grindfest I'll probably give it a miss.
