I assume it'll sell well enough, too.

Why would FF15 require a completely new directorial staff?

To properly bring in new ideas.

Final Fantasy hasn't really developed much since FFX - which is also the point where most of the "new team" has been involved. Music's been a similar quality, basic gameplay (including combat) is only superficially different, and plotting and level design has also been similar.

I'm not really complaining - X through XIII would have to be some of the finest 200+ hours gameplay I've had, ever, but I'd still like to see some really fresh new ideas come into the series.

Adam

Ah, I thought you meant Square would require new staff, but you meant you would "require" new staff. Gotcha. That makes sense.

Josh, that's really funny! I never changed my name though, and it isn't showing different names for me. Maybe it's something to do with your name change that is causing it to happen only for you? Anyone else have my name show as "adam12" when pointing at my avatar, out of curiosity?

The person in the Reggie news article you are talking about. It's not worth it

I've heard Wild Arms is not a bad RPG. I'm waiting for FF9 before I download anything else from the PSN myself though.

We don't have Wild Arms in Australia

Although I will be downloading FFVIII on account of the fact the disc version I have refuses to run on the PS3.

Adam

I'm a PSOne Classics junkie, so if you're looking for an RPG, my vote would go to Grandia. Combat is actually somewhat similar to FF13 in that your characters move around on the battle map of their own volition, and if you choose you can set them up to be automated according to certain plans that you can change on the fly. You can control all characters, though, if you choose to. The game is loaded with charm.

Last PSN game I downloaded was PixelJunk Shooter which was a big disappointment. But if you're looking for strategy, Comet Crash is a really fun single-screen RTS, at least if you have someone locally to play against. It's almost a tower defense game, except you can send out huge streams of offensive units, too, just without any control over them in the field like in a normal RTS.

@Waltz.... Shatter, is flippin awesome and of course there is now Mega Man 10! Wild Arm is fun, but be ready to keep a pen and paper handy as the lack of item descriptions and lack of navigation reminders, as in if you forget what you were doing good luck trying to find out, make it very dated. Though it does play fantastic and the art style is awesome.

@Josh... yeah prob should lol, gets kinda fun sometimes though

And so this ends my journey with Fallout 3 until I play the DLC in the summer! =)

But,it was an exciting and intense adventure.
This game is well worth the money and is one of the best games this gen IMO.

Now,onto some BC2 online and then next week,I finally play some FFXIII!

Is everyone happy with FFXIII?
Or was it crap?

That's a loaded question. If you're me, it's an awesome experience that won't be bettered for a long, long time to come. I'm deliberately inching my way through the game, because I know that once I'm done with it, there's going to be very little in gaming that will excite me so much for a long time (short of another Chocobo game).

If you are on the side of popular opinion, though, it's not a great game. It's excessively linear and there's billions of cut scenes. I personally love that style of play when done well, you might not.

It's worth noting as well, the soundtrack and visuals of the game ARE part of what makes this such an amazing experience. It's a spectacle first and foremost, a game second.

Adam

The linearity works in its favor. I really enjoy hunting down items in side passages, too, even if it ends up being something I don't want. The soundtrack is easily the standout feature for me. I sometimes leave it on when I'm taking a break just to hear the music.

If you ever have a weekend free with nothing to do, I'd rent it and blast through the game. Would have saved a good bit of money if I'd done that, but I'm sure I'll be able to make most of it back selling or trading it when I finish it or give up (the latter looking more likely), so no worries here.

I agree the soundtrack is a standout. I bought it while I was in Japan, and it's basically the only thing I listen to on my iPod at the moment.

That said, the theme song in the Japanese version of the game is way better than Leona Lewis' for the English translation. I was disappointed they didn't keep Eternal Love in tact.

odd69

Yea the soundtrack is awesome, there is one particular song that i loved. I even heard some metal guitar riffs in a few songs that i thought were amazing. Everyone wasn't kidding when they said this game had high production values.

@slapshot no prob man, fun playing with you. sorry i wasn't much help, I decided to spend a day just trying to kill people with the throwing knife...didn't really work out very well haha

Yeah but its funny as hell when you land them. I actually got LUCKY and threw a knife over the canal in Underpass and hit a guy rushing the Canal from the other side. It was a completely random throw that I threw straight over a building lol. Dude I was literally on fire yesterday, I went 20-0 five times withing 7 matches, got to 20 kills and got shot down in my Chopper Gunner, five kills shy of a Nuke only to be with no ammo in both guns lol. Fun stuff. M4A1, FMJ with Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power and Commando Pro is where its at. My brother actually went 47-2 two matches in a row yesterday in Team Deathmatch. He is tournament material on MW for real. We dont camp, run full out and shoot like hell, and dont let up. No glitching and no boosting. Im damn proud of my 21500 kill to 17500 death ratio lol.

FF13 doesn't work on some SDTV's for anyone wondering.
It has a huge problem with screen tearing on the FMV's and sometimes in gameplay.

This is a shame.
I feel like putting the PS3 away for good now.
I have that feeling to only play a PS3 on a HDTV now.

This is amazing. Spent 50 euro on it and warrenty is now done and now it won't work.
Lovely day. Goodbye.

Um, what? I have a standard definition TV, and FFXIII works fine for me. I've not noticed any kind of glitch.
