@MarioVillager92 Thank you! Yours is nice too! I changed mine because I was thinking about Rescue Rangers a bunch (especially the Disney+ movie). Binge watched the OG show for the first time after seeing the movie and Chip ‘n’ Dale became my favorite Disney characters! I was looking for a screenshot of a scene from Rescue Rangers but I couldn’t find one I wanted so I just stuck to a promotional image instead.
I can kind of remember there being a Hello Kitty costume. The ones I remember the most were the other Mario costumes, the Splatoon costumes, and the costumes for non-Nintendo characters (mainly Shaun the Sheep and Babymetal). The game had a pretty good selection of characters when it came to the costumes! It kind of added this nice crossover element to Mario Maker.
Time flies by so fast. I remember them announcing a new Animal Crossing game after Isabelle’s Smash reveal and wanting ACNH so much when they revealed more about it and having to get it digital since physical copies were sold out at every storefront since it was so big back then! So crazy it’s been almost five years. I don’t know how I managed to complete every OE level, but I know for sure I skipped them initially. The box statue levels were the worst, destroy one incorrect box and you instantly fail. The 8-ball ones were tricky but I think they were more manageable than the box carving levels. I think Splatoon 3’s story mode had only a few if I remember.
I think they did develop some gameplay (which the video showed off), but it was a rough or early version that was unfinished, but I wonder when they first conceptualized and pitched it, but from what it looked like as well as the concept art, it looked like it was maybe pitched in the mid 2000s, I know for sure it was pitched after Microsoft purchased them. Grabbed by the Ghoulies started being developed in 2000, so I’d assume the horror game was being developed after. Wow, that’s really, really interesting. Game development stories are one of the most interesting things ever. Was it another Resident Evil game or an original horror game at first?
@Mariotag I did hear about the password sharing thing Netflix did and how hated that move was. I didn’t know much about it because I never had to do so, but reading more about it now it sounds so awful they’d do that. Just makes Netflix seem not worth it anymore…
When I played some N64 games on NSO with the Pro Controller, the controls felt off at first and hard to play, so I get why the games control better with the OG controller. I did like what I played of DKR though I don’t know if I’ll actually finish it on the emulator because of the touchscreen controls. I’m waiting to see if they’ll announce an NSO port. That’s good about DK64, again, I’ll probably try to play it at some point this year maybe.
I think I saw the other Digimon tri movies besides the first film, but YT Movies removes movies unexpectedly since films I saw on there for free became buy or rent movies, but a couple have been on there for free for quite a bit.
It was from what I read, but I don’t know if they lock shows or movies behind subs, which I hope they don’t do... Also sucks is that they don’t do free trials anymore. Last time they did it was way back in 2020.
I didn’t experience much lag with Overwatch when I played it, but even with good internet Overwatch 2 is more laggy. Playing OW1 was fun, especially when it was at its peak in 2016-2019. Speaking of that, I’ve been listening to a catchy and once popular OW fan song called No Mercy and the MV makes me remember how different OW1 was; a few of the heroes had broken ultimates and attacks (especially Mercy), some specific heroes were too OP, the smaller character roster and map selection, 6v6, and the older character designs. I played a ton on PS4, and since we used to have two copies and two PS4s, I played with my dad and his friends. Good times but my OW1 data is gone and I had to start from scratch on the Xbox, but I feel like OW isn’t fun anymore, especially after trying Marvel Rivals yesterday.
I’ve experienced some of the PS4’s long download times and they were pretty annoying too. The Xbox Series S though? Kind of worser and weird since it’s a newer and stronger console despite how smaller it is.
I see. I hope your family and friends come over and have a good time, and that things go well between you and one of your friends.
@Pastellioli Yup. Netflix definitely made a power play or three.
I've yet to play anything NSO with a pro controller. I tried some games online, but it was never smooth enough to be truly worthwhile. Also, what N64 emulator uses a touchscreen? Don't think I've heard of one before.
You never saw the first Adventure tri? Tbh, I've only seen it all subbed. And yeah. Streaming services take stuff down. Live service DRM and all that.
Yeahhh. Disney Plus was a pain in my rear. Can't say I'm especially interested in subbing. If I had to pick a streaming service that I know wouldn't work, either crunchyroll for anime, or Paramount Plus for the Sonic stuff.
OW2 is more laggy? Yikes. Guess they don't especially care about quality control... In my case, yeah. I played OW1 a couple times in its glory era. But lag. In my case, played on PC at the insistence of a friend. Justice rains from above? Check. Ah need healin? Check. I've yet to consider Marvel Rivals.
Weird. Xbox downloads are worse than PSN downloads? That's nuts tbh.
Yeah. I'm hoping things go well too! It won't be all my immediate family at once, as there are rifts. But in due time... As for friends, I dunno who'd be able to make it. A lot of the invites I sent were to ppl I'm close to online, as a sort of formal "yes, I would absolutely invite you, but know you can't make it" kinda thing. The friend in question I'm having trouble with isn't necessarily even a friend anymore. He saw a deeper extent to my social issues and anxieties, and as a mutual put it, he was creeped out by it all. Honestly, I'm unsure which thing upset him, or if it's possible to make up. But I invited him in the hopes something good would come of it.
@Mariotag I always played NSO games using a Pro Controller. It was fine for the NES and SNES games but some N64 games played weird with the Switch button mapping and controls. I recall Banjo-Kazooie’s NSO controls with the Pro Controller feeling off and sorta awkward when I first played it. I used Delta for DKR. I might be misremembering if it had a touchscreen though, but the controls were tough to use, especially because of my phone screen being small.
I haven’t seen any of the tri movies at all or a lot of Digimon media besides the English dub of Digimon Adventure. It stinks that YT Movies took off movies from free with ads, but I think it’s to be expected since they probably negotiate the rights to have them on there for free temporarily. The only streaming service that doesn’t really remove stuff is Disney+, besides those few times they removed some licensed content, original films and shows for licensing issues and cost-cutting reasons and put them on other services like Amazon Prime.
I’m only interested in using it for Mickey Mouse and Chip ‘n’ Dale content since that’s all I’m thinking about right now. I agree with Crunchyroll a ton. Has a good library but awful interface and the ads don’t play and freeze, leading to me quitting out of the app a ton of times to fix it just so I can resume an episode. I knew Paramount+ was apparently buggy, but was it really bad with the Sonic movies specifically?
It was the last time I played it. I used to play OW1 a ton from 2016-2019 but then I dipped a year after they announced OW2. The gameplay is still fun and so are the characters, plus some of the new ones are fun to play as (especially Kiriko) but it doesn’t feel like a sequel, just feels the same but also a bit worse with the lag, awful battle pass, and slow matchmaking, and it makes me wonder if OW1 actually needed a sequel. I read OW2 is going back to its roots, bringing back loot boxes and 6v6 battles (through a test) plus the new heroes they revealed looked cool, but I’ll wait before playing again. My main issue was the lag and matchmaking that made the game so unplayable. Rivals is pretty fun, and it’s the most fun I’ve had with a hero shooter in a while. I need to play it more though.
Yep, Xbox downloads were far more worse than PS4 downloads from what I experienced. I’d have to wait hours for an Xbox game to download or wait the next day if I downloaded it late at night.
I see. Sorry about what happened between you and your friend and the status of your friendship. I am hoping he comes over so you can find a way to make up, and that your birthday goes well alongside that! It should be really fun hanging out with your family and a few friends. I don’t really have any actual friends to hang out with. I really think you’ll have an awesome birthday, and when the day comes, remember to enjoy yourself and have fun all day
Hello, how’s everyone’s Friday? Doing anything fun? Anything new? Playing any fun games? I just played some quick matches in Marvel Rivals and dang I’m loving it a bunch. Liking Squirrel Girl a ton more now! It’s the most fun I’ve had with an online game in a while, though it’s very tricky to attack some swift enemies up close. Got repeatedly killed by a Psylocke in a match I ultimately lost and Iron Fist is so hard to escape from when he starts punching at you. Not gonna do much for the rest of today besides doing more work and maybe a bit more gaming late at night but I’m not complaining! Hope all of you are having a good weekday (or weekend) and I hope you, your friends and your families are safe and blessed
“Woah-shi! It’s a double Yoshi explo-shi!” - Yoshi’s Woolly World ad, 2015
If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flippy from Happy Tree Friends.
@Pastellioli Okay, to start with, who's Squirrel Girl? After seeing FEH's Ratatoskr, can't help but be interested.
Huh. I didn't have a pro controller for the longest time. As for touchscreens, never liked playing retro games on phone.
Huh. So, no other Digimon stuff? Some of it's good, and OG Adventure dub (cause yes, they made a new dub recently) missed a fair few things. Though it's one of only three of the seasons I've not seen subbed yet. And yeah. Understandable for why things might be removed. Licensing can be a pain on the consumer end.
I might see additional stuff with Disney Plus. CR is a mess. And while I never saw movies outright on Paramount Plus, I did try the Knuckles series. It was hard to watch.
Yeah. Very little experience with OW here. Might give 2 a try on console sometime. Marvel Rivals has gotten quite popular.
Oh yikes. So Microsoft traditional L post 360 era. And big Sony L.
Yeah, likely not gonna happen with that dude. He saw a full dose of how bad my social skills can get. Silence? Prob the thing I react the worst to. Yet it's what he did. It does include being cut off too unfortunately. And, I really hope you can find some good friends locally! If not, erm, would you want to be mine? And there might be the remotest slim chance we live somewhat near each other?
@Mariotag She’s a Marvel character who’s a mutant with squirrel-like abilities and can interact with squirrels. She’s really fun in Rivals, and I love how playful she is in personality and how she plays, mainly from her giant prehensile tail she uses to bounce and her ultimate summoning a stampede of squirrels. I don’t really know much about her in the comics and she was one of the lesser known Marvel heroes, but after Rivals she became popular. She’s my favorite to play as but I need to try the other characters.
I did have a lot, including some wireless ones from Amazon, but all of them are unusable (one broke if I recall) and only one official Pro Controller doesn’t have stick drift. The games are still good but playing retro games on phone is not the best. I find some of the classic Sonic games are difficult to control since the touchscreen is right on the screen showing the gameplay and my fingers get in the way. I did enlarge the control buttons but it’s still not a perfect experience.
its been a decade since I last saw Adventure. I haven’t seen other Digimon media, but I could give the tri films a try, if they haven’t been taken off of YT Movies. I still found it strange Disney+ original movies got removed because it wasn’t from licensing and cost-cutting reasons, and although I barely watched a lot of Disney+ originals besides a few movies, it’s still annoying they hopped from one service to another.
Disney+ is the one streaming service out there that I think has an interesting library, probably because a lot of the shows and movies are recognizable for me. Netflix’s became uninteresting for me over time, and Crunchyroll works poorly for me despite the awesome anime library. I see, was it buggy or laggy when you tried watching it on Paramount+?
You should, although I haven’t played OW2 in a bit it’s still fun, it just has bad matchmaking on occasions, and it sounds like they’re now going in the right direction for OW2. You’ll probably like Kiriko a lot since she’s a kitsune-themed shrine maiden. Rivals is really popular! It’s really fun, and a worthy OW competitor in my opinion.
That’s unfortunate. It must hurt being cut off like that, but I’m still hopeful things can get better. I am fine, but I used to like being an introvert and staying inside a bunch but it makes me regretful since I have poor communication skills now and I need to get better at them! It’s kind of the reason why I made a Hookshot account so I can interact far more! The conversations I have had on here are so fun and they make me happy.
@Pastellioli Ah. Sounds like a must-try character. Now hoping Marvel Rivals is a free gacha style game so it doesn't cost anything to get... Already live service, so not much lost...
Yeah. Two pro controllers here. One busted in that trying to move forward, sometimes my character pulls a 180. And yeah, Sonic 1 was what I tried playing on mobile with a touchscreen. The experience royally sucked, which sucks cause mobile Sonic 2 is apparently the definitive uncut one.
Eh. 02 would come before tri. Tri's problems were more or less missed opportunities, and some ppl saw each movie as being done by a different person, so it didn't have the greatest plot. Including an ending that was apparently a tease for a project that never happened. Depressing as the ending was. Having said that, what it did do was pretty impressive. Disney Plus just isn't something I'm keen on.
I don't recall which one Paramount Plus was. Disney Plus was messed up for me, and I didn't have much I cared for on it honestly. Disney does have an impressive library though. Shame they feel some sort of inferiority to the Sonic movies, at least to the point they feel a need to sabotage. (Prsumably anyway) Netflix meanwhile still has stuff I want. And CR just sucks as an app. Maybe browser version is better?
Kiriko only kitsune themed. Sad. An actual kitsune would be nice. They could do a lot with that. Maybe someday on console. Maybe I'll play Rivals someday too. Am a bit worried about the price though.
Yeah. Unfortunately, my social skills and reactions make being cut off a frequent thing, especially online. Also, relatable. I always stuck with my games, and was sorta in a bubble most of my life, in the sense I was oblivious to whatever I wasn't focused on. Also, NL is now a Hookshot account? Didn't realize. Don't think I can comment on Time Extension with this though?
Dunno if things'll get better for me tbh. I can hope, but it's unlikely. Ultimately, OCD does stand for "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder", so me compulsively obsessing drives ppl away quite often.
@Mariotag She is a must-try if you play Rivals. She is pretty easy to learn too, hence why I play as her a lot. Rivals isn’t gacha themed or has any gacha mechanics and its it’s free-to-play. It’s super good!
It stinks, also because all the joy-cons for my Switch also drifted, so it’s only one actual good controller to use. Similarly, for my Xbox I only have two controllers, but one has stuck drift and the other doesn’t. The one with stick drift is awful to use when navigating the home menu, but it works fine when I’m playing hero shooters. Had to use it because for some reason my good controller wasn’t turning on. I’m surprised I was able to finish Sonic CD because the controls right on the screen were hard to use. I’m not liking it a lot with Sonic 1 and 2…
Oh, I see. Seems like each director had a different vision for the tri movies if the quality kind of went back and forth.
Again, I have experienced some issues with Disney+ and a few other services. Disney+’s library was the best out of all the other streaming services I used. Had plenty of good movies and shows that I gave a try, but I rarely watched its original content besides a few movies. I see, what do you want to watch on Netflix if you get it again? I wasn’t really into a lot of Netflix original content and I instead watched licensed shows and movies on there. Oh yeah, it stinks as an app so much, but I haven’t tried the browser version. Maybe I could and see if it’s better quality.
Actually, I should have mentioned her special has her summon a kitsune spirit that enhances attack speed and movement, so there is technically a kitsune there, but not quite. She was fun to play as, though I always had to swap between attacking and healing since she dual wields throwing knives and healing ofuda. Again, Rivals is free so you don’t need to worry about the price. Same for Overwatch too! Both are free and really fun.
I love games and fun stuff, but I think I focused on it too much for so many years it made my communication skills worse and I always forgot how to correctly react and act and talk to others, alongside staying inside for unhealthy amounts. Yeah, NL is a Hookshot account, you use the same account when commenting and using NL’s sister sites Push Square, Pure Xbox and Time Extension. I initially thought the accounts were all separate when I made mine.
Sorry you feel that way…I can feel like that sometimes and not think things will be better, but it’s still good to believe and have hope that things will get better. Believing and dreaming make me feel better, especially since I’m a very negative person. Just imagining stuff makes me more happier, and one day, all the good stuff will happen.
The Ai bros on this site are making me no longer want to use this site all that often. As an artist myself, it genuinely hurts seeing all these people who boast about how "Ai is progress," and that I need to "learn Ai as a skill" if I don't want to be obsolete. It hurts that even this place isn't safe from monsters like them.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
I curious to see Fantasy Life I when the game only have physical release for Japanese version but with English support so I assume the game will have Japanese dub but the text can be switched to English, similar case as Atelier Marie Remake.
I wonder if Level-5 will release the Asia English version (Region 3) for Fantasy Life I as well.
@Anti-Matter I'm pretty sure the game isn't going to have voice acting, so there's not going to be much of a difference between the Japanese and English releases aside from the text.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@Pastellioli Awesome! No gacha AND free to play?? Definitely wanna try it. Might have to wait for better internet though.
Ohh. I've had to send my left joycon in multiple times for drift. Actually doing it again soon for something different, but with both a spare, and an assurance the repair will be free anyway. Was surprised the person on the phone recognized me as a longtime consumer. My sister's the one with the messed up Xbone controllers. And my new pro controller has yet to be truly tested.
Yeahhh. Tri was a little weird. It absolutely had potential, being the first new adventure for the OG cast in over a decade. They ended up having a contrived plot point specifically to keep the newcomers of 02 out of the way. It did bring back a character trait or two that should've been moved past though. Having said that, the ending was just... Well, not as upsetting as Last Evolution Kizuna, but still. And tri itself expanded on a number of things sorta briefly brought up in the OG.
Honestly, don't care about Disney Plus rn besides the Spiderman movies, and Avenger movies, as well as stuff like Toy Story 4. Netflix has some movies and ongoing series I watch. Seven Deadly Sins, and its sequel, I saw Stone Ocean on there (Jojo part 6), and finally finished The Dragon Prince. Which might have more. For some weird reason. Ni No Kuni movie, Dragon Quest movie, some live action stuff, alternative ways to watch some series. The list goes on. And yeah. Browser can be nice. In my case, I use ublock origin with firefox, for security reasons cause there's too many dangerous sites with malicious ads. But it has the bonus (read, detriment to streaming services that rely on ads), of blocking ads on basically any videos in the browser.
Heh. If only the kitsune could do more. I'm a fan of kitsune having shapeshifting/transforming powers, and foxfire especially. The best superpower is ultimately the ability to use any of them at any given time. Nice they're free.
I made my account long before Hookshot. Maybe even before NL was called NL. Nice to know it works with the others. And in my case, I am inside for unhealthy amounts of time regardless. If anxiety has me mostly trapped in my room, I wanna make more of it. But prior to this, I was just in a sort of social/mental bubble. It was almost as if the outside world didn't exist. Someone could be screaming right next to me, and I would legitimately not notice. So I'm glad I broke out of that, with extensive help from a certain friend, and some family, but also bothered by it, cause I became more aware of my environment, which escalated the anxiety.
Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure the "friend" has me muted on yt ever since I asked about making up. In his public comments. Like an idiot. Kinda similar to the reason I got twitter blocked. He was making posts about being lonely, and some con he wanted to go to. So, seeing as we were previously planning on visiting in person, I suggested we get together, without paying mind to the fact it was basically a public post. Still dunno why he didn't respond for months prior though.... Dunno what's left to do except give up. I certainly wouldn't wanna give me another chance after how persistent and stupid I've been.
@Mariotag I did wait quite a bit to play Rivals especially because of my WiFi quality, but the game is really good! Definitely try it when you have the time to.
I think one of the causes of our Joy-cons and Pro Controllers drifting was dust buildup on the controller sticks, but even when we cleaned it up the controllers still malfunctioned, so I think most of it came from excessive use, but I hear about how Joy-cons don’t have the best control sticks. I am worried my good Xbox controller will begin drifting since it’s been used quite a bit and is the only one of the two that doesn’t have drift.
Oh, I see, so the tri movie was kind of mediocre and not the greatest? That’s a bit disappointing. A question, which Digimon show or movie is considered the best? I’m curious since I’ve only seen Adventure.
I see, I have seen some of the Marvel movies on Disney+ (both the MCU movies and some of the non-MCU Spider-Man movies) but I’m not super into Marvel and superheroes, but I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just more into fantasy. I’m more interested in using Disney+ for Mickey Mouse & Friends shows and shorts that I can watch when I’m bored, and I have a few in mind that I’m gonna watch when I get Disney+ soon.
I’ve heard of a couple of those shows and movies you mentioned, but there was a Dragon Quest movie? I haven’t heard of that! I think some streaming services and sites work better on a different browser. Google Chrome I find runs sites better than the Safari browser I tend to use, so maybe Crunchyroll will run better on Chrome.
I think they should have had some of the yokai elements for Kiriko be more prominent, especially because her abilities are more spiritual compared to the rest of OW’s cast, and it would have been cool if the kitsune was used more besides being an ultimate that appears for a brief time. The shapeshifting aspects of kitsune and folklore/supernatural are so interesting and fun, and I think it’s why I like fantasy a ton out of all the many genres out there.
I only heard of NL I want to say back in 2020. Followed their articles for a few years as a guest and made an account almost a year ago. Yeah, it helps a lot too and is super convenient since all the changes you make to your account are reflected on all sites and you can manage it easier, but I didn’t know that you use the same Hookshot account across all their game sites until I tried changing my avatar on PX and saw it change on NL too.
I usually don’t like being inside all the time. Used to like it but now I find myself getting bored, especially after seeing how much it ruined my communication skills over time. While I like being outside, I think some of my bad communication skills show, like sometimes being unaware and being slightly nervous when I have to talk to someone that isn’t my family. But, I still think it’s better than me being inside and letting my communication and social skills worsen, since what I’m doing outside is helping me get comfortable with being more social.
Wait, so he muted you on YouTube and multiple sites because you wanted to make up with him and fix things and he made it public with his comments? That’s really unnecessary for him to do, I wouldn’t make something like that public. I’m really sorry, getting blocked and muted by someone you know must be very frustrating and sad…but, I still don’t think you should give up with reconciling and hoping. Sometimes it may seem that something good isn’t going to happen, but it’s not impossible at all, and it could just be taking a while. I’ve felt like that before but it will happen. And don’t put yourself down or insult yourself, it’ll make you feel really bad. I’ve done that way too much and it really ruins me a lot.
@Pastellioli Eh. Wifi here is miserable. So I'm not exactly hurrying to get it downloaded, and start an endless chain of updates. For reference, the average Genshin Impact update takes about two and a half days.
Tri wasn't a single movie. It was a collection of six movies, that originally released in the west via Crunchyroll, as a collection of, I think 26 episodes. As for your question, ironically, the series considered the best is the OG Adventure series. Where the movie that's considered the best, I'm not as sure of, but there's a reason the creator of Bokura War Game (Our War Game) basically remade the essence of the story into a feature film, albet under a different brand. (Mamoru Hosoda is a popular animation person now, Digimon anime was in part, his work at first.)
Eh. There is some simple home fix for joycons I don't really recall. But yeah. I do get the sense that recent generations of controllers have all had stick drift. I had it on my ps4.
Yeah, I'm more into fantasy too, but gotta admit, Infinity War was a big deal, as was Endgame. And te trailers for Spider-Man No Way Home had me very interested. Same time, there aren't actually many Disney original series or characters that particularly catch my interest.
Yes. Dragon Quest Your Story. There are absolutely shows I haven't mentioned as well. Speaking of, I'm still very salty that Edens Zero got Netflix for season 1, but could not have season 2 dubbed because Netflix has some arrangement.. Not that I'm thrilled by some of the content the series has mind you! I mostly just use Firefox. Prefer it in general.
Ohhh yes. I wholeheartedly agree about having more of the yokai elements for her character! That would make her an instant pick for me. Though I wonder how much of her character is yokai? And yes. Shapeshifting is quite interesting! Unfortunately, it is rare that it's portrayed in the way I originally came to like it for.
My introduction to NL was during the Wii era. Prior to a merger, it was called Virtual Console Reviews. The place you could look at any released VC game to see how it stood up, help make your decisions. Still recall a couple of the staff from back then, not that I was really active. In terms of commenting anyway.
Yeah. I can imagine. There is added stuff to do outside as well. Unfortunately, I'm messed up in that regard.
Uh, no. I made it public in a very stupid, poorly thought out move or two. Not really his fault at all. I also proooobably should have mentioned my issues that come up when silence is deafening, largely involving anxiety and compulsions driving me to do the exact opposite of what's socially acceptable. Which uh. It happened again between the last pair of comments. With someone else.
I can understand what you mean by putting myself down ruining me. I lived through it myself. Prior to 2015, I was generally happy and assertive. But upon accepting an invitation to a forum run by a group of teenagers...that changed. Drastically. Lots of stuff went up all at once, both online and off. Betrayals, realizations, and it all came down to me blaming myself and getting depressed. I only relatively recently started getting out of that depression. It isn't gone yet though, and because of how incredibly many people and groups have tossed me aside, usually for either my depression, or exceptionally poor to the point of toxic social skills, I've become rather pessimistic. The opposite of how I once was. Most of my friends have moved away offline, and online, the vast majority of my original groups have either moved on, leaving me behind, or been bothered by me. At this point, I want a miracle for my life in general. Cause at the moment, pretty much all I really can do without suffering a decent bit is gaming and anime.
Cor blimey! (Barbella Dragon Quest shout)
I have reached chapter 4 on Dragon Quest Builders, the final chapter.
The place is so.... Dead and Creepy. 😨
Chapter 4 looked really tough with almost everything dead and very limited items to survive.
Let's see if I can survive in chapter 4.
@Mariotag I also wasn’t in a rush to download Rivals because of WiFi but it’s better now. I’m glad I waited, since I can’t tell you how annoyed I’d be if the WiFi kept disconnecting me from matches like when I was playing OW2 around the time Rivals came out. Bad internet really prolongs simple game updates, forgot about that. Another thing I don’t like about bad internet.
I knew there were more Tri movies (I saw two of them listed on YT) but I didn’t know they were originally Crunchyroll releases. I see, I had a feeling Adventure was popular but I didn’t know people said it was the best out of all the Digimon animes. Now that I recall, I also watched Digimon Tamers since Netflix had that listed at one point with Adventure.
I think my stick drift can be fixed, but I don’t know other remedies besides checking for dust underneath the sticks and cleaning it thoroughly. I’ll find some but I still think the drift is from excessive use and accidentally dropping controllers on the floor. I did that too much with one of my Xbox controllers on accident.
Haven’t seen the Avengers movies but I see how much of an impact they had, especially Endgame from the memes and clips online. I’m sure my siblings watched it but I didn’t. The only MCU movies I watched were the Black Panther movies, Captain Marvel, Civil War, Quantumania, some of Eternals, as well as the show WandaVision. Disliked Quantumania a lot, it had bad writing, an inconsistent tone that went back and forth between serious and lighthearted and stupid jokes that were so unfunny. But, my siblings watched more MCU stuff than me so they know the universe far more.
It’s strange I never heard about Dragon Quest having a movie but I heard about the Ni No Kuni movie on there years ago. About Edens Zero’s seasons, it sounds like licensing issues. It’s so annoying when I got on Netflix and see they only have a single season of one show. It reminds me, they had the OG Yo-kai Watch series on there at one point burnYo-kai Watch has more anime series and films but Netflix had season 1 of the anime instead of all 3 seasons and only the first movie, but I’d have to assume it’s because that was the only one out of the five movies to have a dub. They stopped dubbing the anime in English after the first show and movie, also because Yo-kai Watch wasn’t doing too well in the West, though they kept releasing the games in English until 2019.
The yokai/supernatural elements Kiriko has mainly comes from her spiritual healing ofuda, her purification suzu to remove negative effects inflicted by enemies (kind of like exorcising bad spirits), her teleportation ability and the kitsune she summons in her ultimate, as well as some alternate skins she has that have more prominent folklore and spiritual elements. I still really like her design, and it’s kind of a mixture of shrine maiden and modern wear, though I also like her other skins like Athleisure and Matsuri.
I heard about how NL had a different name prior and it was VC-centric. How different was it back then? The only remnants I see of the older site are the threads made in the 2000s and some of the users that made those threads being inactive for decades, plus a lot of the comments I see on old articles have 0 likes, which implies that they didn’t have a like and dislike button.
Sorry, I misread and misinterpreted! Again, super sorry. I see. Sometimes my thoughts with worrying can also make me do actions and have good intentions that turn out wrong or make me more stressed out around others.
I felt I was happier back then but it wasn’t until a few years back I got pessimistic, but also more worried and a perfectionist, mainly coming from mistakes I made that upset others and wanting to do well in everything. But it led to me always getting upset when I mess up with anything (including fun stuff like drawing), having bad thoughts about the future, often times second-guessing myself, hoping for a day to go well and it doesn’t, and some weeks feel like there full of misses rather than wins. And so it led to me making self-deprecating comments that made my self-esteem worse and discussing negative topics with others without realizing until someone points it out, but it could also be from the games and media I see and consume that make me that way, but it’s mostly on me. I’m trying to get better at being kinder to myself, but I occasionally slip a negative comment or two about myself without knowing, and sometimes I feel like any positive comments I make about myself are biased and lies.
That doesn’t sound good about the forum. Some forums online can be pretty toxic, especially since some can unfortunately spiral into something harmful and bad, also because most online forums aren’t moderated well and anything and everything can happen. It makes me appreciate how NL moderates the forums here so it’s safe and friendly. I’m sorry about the stuff that happened with you over the years, and I understand that fun stuff and hobbies sometimes feel like the only way to feel happy. I like watching and doing stuff since it makes me forget about things that bother me, and I tend to do it a lot. I am hopeful something really good does happen for you, because I can absolutely understand being tired of all the negative stuff that’s happened and wanting something good to happen.
@Pastellioli Yeahhh. Imma wait before getting either.
tri was originally movies in Japan, but subbed episodes outside Japan. of course, the English dub is movie format only though. As for best, it does need to be stated that there are plenty of details that were heavily edited or removed from the dub. At least the original dub.I still remember the 02 series had that one episode where, the "villain" in the dub stated outright they were evil, but the og sub, they said they were acting to ensure their own survival. The exact scenario is probably too much to put here tbh.
I forget the simple fix, but I don't recall it being cleaning dust.
I saw a few earlier MCU movies. Up until the first Avengers. And yeah. I've seen the impact too. There's a sort of semi-bootleg youtube series called "Infinity Wah", starring Waluigi as Thanos because he didn't get into Smash. And iirc, cause everyone else except Wario were a bunch of jerks to him. Worth a watch imo.
Yeah. I've not seen much of any of those movies honestly. My current Netflix series are The Batman, Dandadan, and when I get back to it, Seven Deadly Sins 4 Knights of the Apocalypse. And yeah. Licensing can suck muchly.
Huhhh. Sounds like she wouldn't actually have any kitsune abilities then. Unless she actually is at least part kitsune? I def wanna see more kitsune, and should at least see her character. Also, is Youko another term for supernatural kitsune? Just curious.
NL from before is something I don't remember that well tbh. I know I kept up with most articles until about 2012, actually taking the time to read every single one for a while. But was that NL era? Or VCR? VCR absolutely focused on the virtual console most. You could look through a catalogue of all the games, and look at reviews. While I don't recall if there were any articles, I do remember one of the staff being Corby. I think he goes by Corbs now? Grim Reaper pfp. And there was someone at some point who was a Sega fan who actually landed a job with Sega.
Yeah. Understandable you might've misread or whatever. And yup. It royally sucks. I genuinely feel compelled, and fixated, on whatever issue there may be. It's something to overcome that has caused many problems. Compulsion to speak and/or act. Driven by anxiety. Complete with a flawed instinctive understanding of how interacting works.
Huh. I relate to a lot of that. Many of those points apply to me as well. Like, I will be consumed by my social mistakes, and I will discuss negative topics with others, until pointed out. It isn't as much negativity on things I enjoy, but I am still something of a perfectionist with those. Currently, I'm struggling to get 100% on a handful of games for example. But that doesn't make me negative toward myself. Just a bit extra bored with less motivation to finish. In the likes of BotW and TotK (Zelda), I got burned out before any of that could ever come to pass, and barely finished the main stories. I do miss being mindlessly happy though.
The forums in question were everything you described. I even called out both the forum owner, and the forum itself, and said the place would essentially self destruct. Which later, after I was gone, it absolutely did. Rare case of me being insightful enough to predict things. There was a bit of perspective involved. Like, ppl on during the day thought the ppl on during the night were causing drama by talking, and vice versa. I ended up blaming myself when I realized that. Having said that, there was another forum I was on that became a safe place. A particularly fun moment from the toxic forum was when a new member created a group dm, and me, along with a couple others, openly called the forum owner an a** for his behavior. He told the rest of the forum he banned us and would let us back in, but because he found the delete account button instead of the ban button, we saw everything. Including the vast majority of the forum hating on us, primarily me.
Yeah. They do feel like the only way to stay happy. One good thing isn't quite enough to overturn years of bad though, because if I lose focus and start messing up again, or if further bad occurs, it's largely a reminder that I'm still trapped.
(Edit, just realized I've gotten too personal and negative. Gonna work on dialing it back.)
