@Kermit1 Man, as someone who watched Doctor Who growing up it is so weird to know that the person who played Clara voiced Melia even in 3. @ComfyAko I'm not sure I believe you.

I figured GameCube would be a no go. The reason I am wondering is so I can play the first couple paper Mario games on the go. ( I know a steam deck could do it, but that sadly costs money.)
I have a copy of each game though, so I can just dump the roms.
I’ve also thought about hacking my old switch, but I’m not sure if talking about current gen emulation is against the rules or not.

@blindsquarel Switch hacking is not where 3DS hacking is and legit has the risk of bricking your Switch. The only good emulation powerhouse besides PC is the Steam Deck and like you said that costs money. Right now "homebrew-type" emulation on the 3DS is still in its early days, I'd say GameCube ports (not emulation) could happen in the next 1-4 years and I bet PM:TTYD will be one of the first to get ported if that does happen. Also, PS1 emulation on the NEW 3DS is actually pretty good if know how to set it up.
@Kermit1
Yeah, also from what I’ve been reading the emulation on switch isn’t great for GameCube games. I might try PM 64 on 3ds if I can figure out how to dump a ROM from virtual console.
Also TTYD needs to be ported to switch. At the very least it should be on switch online.

@blindsquarel
I personally choose Paper Mario clones like Bug Fables or something else by 3rd party developers that I still can get the game with reasonable price than hunt for TTYD with OMG inflated price but I don't really have some hype to play after I played Origami King.
@Kermit1
I really wish that attempt by Arlo to try to get Nintendos attention would have worked.
@Anti-Matter
I already have all the paper Mario games, I just kinda want to play them portably. I’ll probably forget about it in a week.
Bug fables is an excellent game though.
@Link-Hero
Yeah, GameCube was a reach, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I found an emulator that seems ti work for N64 on 3ds, so once I get some free time I will check it out.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika
I doubt it ever happens, but I would love if it did happen. 64 is probably the most they would go for though. But TOK was excellent, so hopefully future games in the series keep getting better.

Late with replies, but had a nice past few days. Friend and I got together to watch some Christmas stuff Make up day for when we got together for Christmas, but ended up getting. Nothing contagious. That was fun, got the newest Trolls book, Sweet Dance Party, which is a nice short story. Now just waiting on my copy of Smurfs Kart to be delivered by the end of the week.
@Sunsy I think it's fine if people enjoy FPS games. They just aren't really for me lol. I think my main problem is a lot of them looked like muddy war settings for the longest time; Halo and CoD were both becoming quite popular when I was in school. I do appreciate that there are plenty out there that break the mold though. I'd probably try/enjoy the Splatoon series if I didn't prefer other genres and have a significant backlog lol.
Thanks for linking that midi version of the song. I like that rendition too.
That's cool. That's what I love about Splatoon, it actually ended up being a really different take on shooter games. Especially online multiplayer, still has a fun single player mode.
@Sunsy blocking is always the right course of action ypu don’t owe a troll the time of day. And you cannot argue with them. You can’t beat trolls with logic because they aren’t using logic they are being obnoxious just to upset people. You can’t win an argument with one you will only upset yourself and give the troll attention and they will win.
I’m glad You think we’re having a good conversation. I’ e tried hard not to completely derail this discussion with Puss in boots 2 but the movie was incredible It became in one sitting my favorite Dreamworks movie. It has gotten me really exited and appreciative of Dreawmworks as a studio and more interested in collecting some of thier DVD’s because I have no interest in peacock and animated movies of any kins of movie benefit the most at higher resolutions.
Pretty much every dreamworks sequel is great. Take Madagascar it’s one of Dreamworks more forgettable franchises however the movie had a planned story and logical trough line from the opening of the first one until the ending of the last. Kung fu panda has marvel esc post credit scenes teasing the next, how to train your dragon is pretty much an animated epic and even Shrek 4 is awesome. Dreamworks realized they s##t the bed with shreck 3 and came out swinging for 4 patching every issue and sending the franchise off on an incredibly high note after every started regarding shreck as a joke. And then theres puss in boots 2 which managed to be the best movie in a dead nearly 20 year old franchise and it was a sequel to an agreed upon mediocre spin off. Pixar has some good sequels like toys story 2 and finding Dory but they pale in comparison to the greatness pixar creates. Most of thier sequels out do the first. Most of Pixar’s best movies are sequels/finales not original movies. First movies are jumping points for better ones.
Thier recent uses of animation has also been amazing. Pixar and Disney have great and realistic cgi animation but it is not stylized. Dreamworks is bringing in so many great artstyles Trolls, Bad guys and puss 2 while not as realistic as Pixars movie they have so much more energy. Just compare these 2 trailers sure both look great but one has alot more energy
It’s night and day. Again both look great it’s just one is much better than the other
I will watch trolls 2 some day but as I say every time I have alot of stuff I need to watch first. Saul goodman has me hooked
Indeed, as the old saying goes, don't feed the trolls (the irony coming from the guy with a "Trolls" profile picture, lol)
Yeah I can see that, watching the trailer, FWIW, Puss N Boots had its trailer attached to one of the summer showings of Trolls World Tour, so I've seen this one on the big screen (I thought it would have 2020 trailers attached to it, I didn't know they ship new trailers when older movies get shown for special showings). That stylized look near the beginning is so cool, kind of like a storybook feel from the looks of it. They actually did some experimenting in Trolls Holiday In Harmony, there's a whole 2D segment with Tiny Diamond that was rather trippy, but the artstyle ended up being different from the rest of the special. It's nice seeing DreamWorks experiement a bit and try some new things with animation. I wouldn't worry too much about Peacock, DreamWorks movies still appear on other streaming services. Definitely a good idea to get them on 4K Blu-Ray, even streaming isn't as good as it's through the Internet and buffers and resolution changes could happen, even with great Internet.
Honestly, coming off as someone who loves Pixar movies, I enjoyed Turning Red and Luca in terms of recent movies, I really didn't have much of an interest in Lightyear. I just waited for it to appear on Disney+, I only watched it once. I rewatched Turning Red and Luca, Lightyear, only once. WIll admit, if this is the movie Andy watched in 1995, wow, Andy's universe's CGI was way ahead of its time, lol.
That's fine, I hope you enjoy it when you do get around to it.
@Sunsy Ah all right, that makes sense it'd be a digital rental, thanks for telling me. That sounds like a good pick for your favorite Trolls movie, as well. That'd be cool to have your signature like that, I did see that in your NL profile page, you have "Trolls Superfan" underneath your username.
That lemon tea you had sounds good. Yeah, it seemed like Team Spicy's been besting me in most rounds I played against them. By the way, Team Sweet won the Splatfest! That really made my day. The other teams put up a really good fight though!
Yeah, Trolls World Tour had its theatrical release cancelled because of the obvious problem in the world, so it was a rental. It ended up being the #1 digital movie in 2020, selling a lot of rentals. Still it's a treat to see it on the big screen if a showing shows up, it's mostly just special family events if it does show up in a theater. Yeah, I might do that. I did that, lol.
Glad to hear Team Sweet won.
