@Kermit1 Man, as someone who watched Doctor Who growing up it is so weird to know that the person who played Clara voiced Melia even in 3.
@ComfyAko I'm not sure I believe you.

Can a modded new 2ds emulate N64 and GameCube games. I doubt either will work but it might be worth a go.

@blindsquarel You can emulate 64, GameCube is a no for right now. You can emulate PS1 games... If you know where to look...

@TeaCatherine I adore making stuff like that lol. Mainly because I do those mentally when bored.

I figured GameCube would be a no go. The reason I am wondering is so I can play the first couple paper Mario games on the go. ( I know a steam deck could do it, but that sadly costs money.)
I have a copy of each game though, so I can just dump the roms.
I’ve also thought about hacking my old switch, but I’m not sure if talking about current gen emulation is against the rules or not.

@blindsquarel Switch hacking is not where 3DS hacking is and legit has the risk of bricking your Switch. The only good emulation powerhouse besides PC is the Steam Deck and like you said that costs money. Right now "homebrew-type" emulation on the 3DS is still in its early days, I'd say GameCube ports (not emulation) could happen in the next 1-4 years and I bet PM:TTYD will be one of the first to get ported if that does happen. Also, PS1 emulation on the NEW 3DS is actually pretty good if know how to set it up.

Yeah, also from what I’ve been reading the emulation on switch isn’t great for GameCube games. I might try PM 64 on 3ds if I can figure out how to dump a ROM from virtual console.

Also TTYD needs to be ported to switch. At the very least it should be on switch online.

@blindsquarel
I personally choose Paper Mario clones like Bug Fables or something else by 3rd party developers that I still can get the game with reasonable price than hunt for TTYD with OMG inflated price but I don't really have some hype to play after I played Origami King.

I really wish that attempt by Arlo to try to get Nintendos attention would have worked.

@Anti-Matter
I already have all the paper Mario games, I just kinda want to play them portably. I’ll probably forget about it in a week.
Bug fables is an excellent game though.

@Link-Hero
Yeah, GameCube was a reach, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I found an emulator that seems ti work for N64 on 3ds, so once I get some free time I will check it out.

I doubt it ever happens, but I would love if it did happen. 64 is probably the most they would go for though. But TOK was excellent, so hopefully future games in the series keep getting better.
