@blindsquarel You can emulate 64, GameCube is a no for right now. You can emulate PS1 games... If you know where to look...

@TeaCatherine I adore making stuff like that lol. Mainly because I do those mentally when bored.

I figured GameCube would be a no go. The reason I am wondering is so I can play the first couple paper Mario games on the go. ( I know a steam deck could do it, but that sadly costs money.)
I have a copy of each game though, so I can just dump the roms.
I’ve also thought about hacking my old switch, but I’m not sure if talking about current gen emulation is against the rules or not.

@blindsquarel Switch hacking is not where 3DS hacking is and legit has the risk of bricking your Switch. The only good emulation powerhouse besides PC is the Steam Deck and like you said that costs money. Right now "homebrew-type" emulation on the 3DS is still in its early days, I'd say GameCube ports (not emulation) could happen in the next 1-4 years and I bet PM:TTYD will be one of the first to get ported if that does happen. Also, PS1 emulation on the NEW 3DS is actually pretty good if know how to set it up.

Yeah, also from what I’ve been reading the emulation on switch isn’t great for GameCube games. I might try PM 64 on 3ds if I can figure out how to dump a ROM from virtual console.

Also TTYD needs to be ported to switch. At the very least it should be on switch online.

@blindsquarel
I personally choose Paper Mario clones like Bug Fables or something else by 3rd party developers that I still can get the game with reasonable price than hunt for TTYD with OMG inflated price but I don't really have some hype to play after I played Origami King.

@blindsquarel I know eh, c'mon Ninty just port it already people will buy it.

I really wish that attempt by Arlo to try to get Nintendos attention would have worked.

@Anti-Matter
I already have all the paper Mario games, I just kinda want to play them portably. I’ll probably forget about it in a week.
Bug fables is an excellent game though.

@Link-Hero
Yeah, GameCube was a reach, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I found an emulator that seems ti work for N64 on 3ds, so once I get some free time I will check it out.

I doubt it ever happens, but I would love if it did happen. 64 is probably the most they would go for though. But TOK was excellent, so hopefully future games in the series keep getting better.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Indeed, it takes a whole lot of singing and dancing and hugging... unless you're Branch in a bunker. Now that I think about it, that is kind of like a basement, lol.

Indeed. Always loved what they did when Mr. Wolf says "I'm the BIG BAD WOLF," in the first Bad Guys trailer. It just looked really cool with that outline.

The flip-o-rama in Captain Underpants, the scrapbook scenes in Trolls, even that storybook look in the Puss In Boots trailer all are fantastic. Yeah, it says a lot since they not only did traditional animation in that Trolls segment, they translated the 3D characters to 2D well. IIRC, Trolls World Tour has a short called Tiny Diamond's First Day of School on its DVD/Blu-Ray using a different animation style too. Oh yes, Mitchell's vs. the Machines was filled with great animation!

That's fine, just doesn't sound like your cup of tea. Inside Out is fantastic, there's one I saw in theaters. Glad you got what you wanted with Puss In Boots.

@Kermit1 I haven't seen The Emoji Movie, but I've heard it's...bad. Very bad. I recall the trailers not being impressive.

@Anti-Matter Unfortunately, some Pixar-only films (no direct Disney involvement) in countries that have Disney+ only got those movies as streaming only. I don't really stream shows or movies, so Turning Red is one film I haven't seen as a result.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I find the concept of Turning Red interesting. Plus, I was a bit younger than the age group of friends in the year the movie is set, so some nostalgia is at play too lol.

I figured The Emoji Movie bit was a joke lol. I think the last animated film I saw in theaters was Sing 2, and I enjoyed that one. I'm busy this evening and the next, but I think I'll shoehorn some of the first Avatar movie in on Thursday and Friday evening.

@MarioLover92 I originally went to school to learn programming since I wanted to eventually work in the gaming industry. My main major was programming, but my college also offered a game dev certificate and took classes for that too. I ironically learned I like the business side of coding too, so that's my current career lol. I wouldn't mind getting involved with a small indie project/group, but multiple issues scared me off from working in the larger industry (Remember the Riot Games scandal?). Unfortunately, I wouldn't say the industry has improved very much in the last decade either if the Activision Blizzard debacle is anything to go by. I can definitely code, but there are other parts of the game dev process I'd need help with lol.

I did see that Team Sweet won the Splatfest! Congrats to you and your compatriots!

@Sunsy Honestly if 1. I wasn't trying to stay away from buying multiplayer centric games unless I know I'll like them and 2. Didn't have a significant backlog, I'd probably be more apt to try Splatoon...and Animal Crossing for that matter lol.

I bought a kit to make pickles in the fridge. They came out really good! It was quick and easy too.

I made way too many though so now I’m adding pickles to everything I eat. 🤔

Put some mustard or mayonnaise on a bread, add with sliced of pickles and smoked ham then you will have delicious sandwich.
