Topic: Have you had any surgeries? What were they?

I've had two surgeries so far.

One in the summer of 2003 where they removed my tonsels. I was in pain for many weeks, couldn't talk, had to drink gatorade (which is probably why I hate it now) and I could not enjoy Wario World completely because I would get nautious everytime he jumps into worlds and out (you know, white background, he's spinning in circles with some blur).

Recent surgery was last year, summer 2010 and my thyroid was removed. Didn't work anyway andmy doctor was concerned about how one side was larger than the other especially when it's abnormal for someone like me with Hypothyroidism. Couldn't do much for 2 weeks and my mom kept forcing me to eat food I didn't want to, which was the only thing that sucked (I'm a health phobe- I lost 70lbs in a year and was paranoid about eating anything especially fast food if I'm not working out).

I really don't like going into surgery especially when you're stuck home doing nothing.

I got my tonsils removed when I was little.

Then I had a hernia removed in 2005. My parents said the first thing I said before waking up from the anesthesia was "when am I getting the Nintendo game?"

I had an hernia surgery when I was 6 months old than again when I was 4 years old. Most recently though I had oral surgery to remove my two back molars on the right side.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I had four surgeries to repair my spine and pelvis about 7 years ago after a serious accident.

I don't know if this will qualify as a surgery, but when I was 5, I climbed up the wrong end of a slide, right as another kid was sliding down it. Long story short, one of my teeth got kicked back up into my gums, and later had to be surgically removed, if I remember correctly.

Also, I'm getting my tonsils this October, and will be recovering the week before Halloween.

Had something happened to me as a kid that I can't remember. I think it was fracturing my skull. I've also had 2 surgeries to remove 8 moles on my body in both 6th and 7th grade. Most recently I had a root canal last May which took several visits.

Does getting two teeth pulled out count as surgery?

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Once, when I was six. Fell out of a loft, landed on my face. Upper front teeth "staplegunned" my lower lip before hitting the floor and being pushed up through my gums, where one eventually cracked my upper jaw. And was later discovered on X-ray after the doctors had assumed it had simply pinged off into the house somewhere. Was not expected to get adult front teeth due to the damage caused, but thankfully I did (although one has a large calcium mark on it). Was in hospital for a couple of weeks.

The only surgical-related thing I had was when I got my tooth pulled out.

well if we're including teeth I had to get my last baby tooth removed because the permanent tooth was growing in sideways (about 80 degrees off)

I've had my wisdom teeth removed. Trust me, don't wait 6 hours after the surgery to get your pain meds! D:

Also, I had an emergency appendectomy back in 2007. It started off as a really bad tummy ache that wouldn't go away so I went to the doc. Good thing too, cuz my appendicitis ruptured later that evening and they had to wake the surgeon up at 2am to come in and do the surgery that would ultimately save my life.

Whenever I hear someone has a tummy ache, I always tell them about my experience. What I say usually frightens and upsets them but I'm just trying to let help them avoid something that could potentially turn serious.

I had a surgery to repair my deviated septum. That was so fun. Felt like someone drove a semi straight onto my nose. It was really nice when all the puss and blood drained out of my nose. You have to do these saline rinses like 2-3 times a day which was oh so fun. Squirt a bottle of salt water basically in one side to flush it all out the other. Oh and then when they take the splints out... oh man. That was one of the most uncomfortable feelings ever. Basically these plastic tubes that they shoved up in there about 4-5 inches long. They take them back out with pliers and it was pretty horrifying how big and thick they were. I can't believe something so giant could fit up my nose. And the sound it makes when they take it out....

I slammed my head against a wall corner once. Blood everywhere. I had to be rushed to the emergency room. Eventually they gave me stitches. But instead of putting a trained doctor to stitch me up, they sent a new doctor. I could tell by how he forgot to give me the numbing stuff. And how he messed up the stitches and had to do it again. By then I was screaming. What fun~

I'm not sure if this counts but for years I had this heart problem where sometimes it would just suddenly start going too fast and three years ago (2008) I had an operation where they removed something from my heart to stop it ever happening again and it was a successful operation as it has never happened since then.
