Topic: Shiren the Wanderer

Sorry I haven't been able to give it another go. Way busy house shopping, barely got any gaming in lately aside from a little 3 Muskateers. GTA:CW has helped alleviate some of the stress, but I'd much prefer a game where I can punch Realtors in the face.

I've looked this up everywhere, but I can't find the answer. Why is it that when I put items in a Jar of Change I can't take them out after? What's the point of changing them if I can't use them?

@Adam: Nice new avatar man! Oh and regarding the Jar of Change, you have to throw the jar against a wall to break it and then pick up the items. This jar can be helpful when you have too many items or some items that are useless to you at the moment. Sometimes you get something really cool but you never know with the Jar of Change. It can be really handy. I hope this helps.

It most certainly does, thanks! For some reason I could have sworn I'd tried breaking it before and it didn't work. I would try it out now, but I just made another of my trademark stupid mistakes and died in the swamp despite doing super well up to that point and getting lucky with lots of good items. Sigh.

I don't suppose you're in the rescuing business anymore? I can't wait until Shiren for Wii comes out. Then I'll just put the disc in my brother's console and rescue myself whenever I need.

Oh, and about the avatar, there is surprisingly little Flint art out there, and I can't seem to find my old avatar, so this will have to do. Zoom. Now if only I could have my name changed to Mr. Adam.

You have to upload them somewhere, such as www.photobucket.com, first. The IMG code is just a pointer. It points to where the image is located. But if the image is located on your hard drive, we can't see it because the forum doesn't have access to your hard drive. The address within the IMG code needs to be a URL accessible from any computer.

Thanks for the tips Adam. Unfortunately, I am still not able to figure it out at the moment but I'll try to experiment with it more until I can get it right. For the time being, I'll just post these here so you can take a look for yourself and maybe you'll see something you like.

Ah, thanks, the second one is the one I had been looking for. Tall images don't come out good since this forum uses square avatars, but cropping just the face on the hat-tipping one doesn't look right, so I didn't want to use it, but that's the only one I could find when I searched earlier. I might switch back to my old one later, though I do like Mr. Saturn, and he perhaps resembles me more.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I can't get this one to look right either. I'm not good with complicated programs like Paint. Looks like Mr. Saturn is here to stay.

@Adam: No problem man. I just felt bad for you losing your original image of Flint. I know you and him were tight but I really like the Mr. Saturn avatar. I'm glad that you found one that you like and yes, Mr. Saturn suits you just fine.

Ugh, I got all the way to Ravine of Illusions for the first time. I had a cursed Gold Shield for half the game and finally got a Blank Scroll. I thought to use it I had to select Read and then it would ask me what to use it as. It just disappeared...

Such a cruel, cruel game.

I found a copy of this for $9 (about $6-$7 US), and boy is it worth that (and more) - First Mystery Dungeon game I've tried, and I didn't realise just how much it was like Nethack until now.

Gonna sink lots of time into this one.

Awesome, glad to see someone else getting into this. If you ever need a rescue, let me know! I've been eager to try rescuing someone, but no one ever needs it. I don't have the DS online right now though, so it'd have to be using the password feature. Enjoy!
