As mentioned in last month's Direct, there's going to be a Nintendo Museum opening in the near future in Japan (unfortunately a bit out of reach for many of us) and is said to feature a "wide variety of products of Nintendo's history."

This has SO much potential and so I thought it would be fun to toss around some ideas of what you would like to see in a place like this!
Whether that be to do with the exhibits, what the layout or aesthetic of the museum should be or ideas for other facilities. Be as realistic or as far-fetched as you like!

For example: I think it would be really cool to have a café located somewhere in the building themed after The Roost! Complete with the pigeon-like tilings and the photos on the walls.
I'm sure there will be plenty of incentives to draw people to the Museum but given how popular Animal Crossing is right now, especially in Japan, I think something like this would certainly draw people in!

I’m hoping a lot of the concept art/art work for games will be on display. Nintendo has had some amazing artists over the decades and their work should be put on display. I also really hope that everything is kid/ahole proof. I have seen so many vids of children destroying irreplaceable artwork and given that this is a Nintendo themed museum the potential for destruction is great. I also hope they put the spotlight on composers (if they allow it of course) and prolific devs.

One of the handful of Nintendo Playstation prototypes needs to be present otherwise...massive L.

@Magician I have to agree with this one. I would love to see some of the more unique and obscure stuff from Nintendo's history shown at this Museum. Personally, I'm a bit of a sucker for the Satellaview, Nintendo's early attempt at online gaming via satellite. Love watching videos and reading up on it.

Maybe even prototype stuff, showcasing development history of different games and hardware.

A must, Nintendo's origins of making playing cards. Remember, it was founded in 1889 as a playing card company IIRC.

The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

@Ryu_Niiyama Yeah concept art is a must! And I too would LOVE to see some music representation. If there are any demo recordings or early versions of any pieces then I would be giddy. Sure, I'd prefer to have them published properly but in true Nintendo fashion: "I'll take what I can get"😂
And yes hopefully these exhibits are displayed properly, bullet-proof glass or bust!

@Sunsy I would put money on there being a lot of pre-video game items on show.

I swear if the Wii vitality sensor shows up...

In addition to what's already been suggested (especially concept art for a bunch of iconic Nintendo games), I think it'd be so damn cool if the museum had a section dedicated to all the kooky console peripherals Nintendo's made over the years. Nintendo Labo, DK Bongos, a R.O.B toy (maybe even connected to an actual NES with games like Gyromite so that you can actually play the games that R.O.B was designed for); stuff like that would be an amazing representative of the weird and wonderful side of Nintendo in my eyes.

I think this is cool that they are doing this but I Think they should put something in the United States also.

The exhibition space should focus heavily (approx. 90%) on Nintendo's pre-video game heritage. I'm thinking like a huge space celebrating the ultra hand and a real life size working replica of a Nintendo love hotel.
