My VC wishlist...? You mean to say the Mother series, Super Mario Kart, and Joy Mecha Fight are on this disc? Awesome.
But seriously, while I think Fatal Labyrinth looks cool, I mean that I'd get it if it came out on VC, not that I'm particularly crazy about tracking it down. I don't think it could be as good as Shiren the Wanderer, which is pretty much everything a roguelike should be.
The only game on that collection disc you've told me about that I'd like is that Golden Axe zeldalike. I try to limit my retail purchases as much as possible, and given that I generally dislike most Sega games, I can't see myself justifying it for one Genesis game that I might like. Seriously, I don't even like Sonic, the titular character of the collection. I'm not sure what else is on there, but I doubt it's enough for whatever the price is.
The collection is only $30. It has 49 games on it, including all four Phantasy Star titles, Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force 1 & 2, Golden Axe Warrior, Golden Axe 1-3, Streets of Rage 1-3, Fatal Labyrinth, and a whole bunch of other games, many but not all of which are available on VC for way too much money by comparison. Hard to believe you couldn't find enough on the disc to be worth the low cost.

You mean First Person RPGs? I haven't played a lot of those, but what I have played were great! There's Shin Megami Tensai II, Sword of Vermillion...and another one, whose name has escaped me. I really should play more of these, so I guess I'll take notes from the other posters as well.
@Mickeymac: Sword of Vermilion? Puke! I'd like it if the battles were more Zelda and less Crap: The Game.
@Adam: I never had an opinion about them in their heyday, 'cause I was homeschooled and lived on a Nintendo street. But I like a lot of their games now. Shame you don't, 'cause that collection is a great deal!

That's too bad. Personally, I thought the battles were a lot of fun. Same with the rest of the game. The first person elements made exploring the overworld rather interesting, and the battles added a bit of franticness and challenge to it - a very good combination in my book. Still, you can think what you like. I'm just sad that weren't able to enjoy it.
I mean the fact that you have to be standing like, RIGHT NEXT TO the enemy to MAYBE hit them, and all the while they're killing you. It's just plain bad.

:face-palm: Don't tell me you just stand in front of a guy and mash the attack button?! That's the dumbest thing you can do in any action RPG! You gotta hit 'n' run! Hit 'em from behind, hit 'em where it hurts, then get outta range.
That's not what I said! But hit-and-run doesn't work when the hit detection and sword reach are crap!
Good, you had me worried for a moment. As for the hit detection...I'm fairly sure the game bases hits and misses off stats. I hate it when games do that. It would be nice if the sword had more reach, and perhaps better swords will have more reach, but still...
Again, it's too bad you didn't like it. I guess this game is just not for you.
Or most people, really. It's quite unpopular as I understand it. I played a fair way in (at least five hours) and have seen my brother play further...no better sword has better reach.
