And here what it is says. We know a new Nintendo Direct is never too far off, but when exactly will it be here? Some people say that when an empty slot is added to the official Nintendo corporate page for Nintendo Directs, it means a new one is on the way soon. I honestly believe this trend as well, and that's just what happened today. Could we see one more direct before the year is over, or is Nintendo going to hold off until 2018? What is your thoughts on it?
Read an article where Reggie said, they wouldn‘t talk about their 2018 plans until after this year‘s holiday season. And it makes sense to start talking 2018 when it‘s actually 2018. Btw, here‘s that article: https://nintendosoup.com/reggie-nintendo-will-talk-2018-holid...
So if anything releasing in 2018 is off the table, what‘s left to talk about? Xenoblade 2 is the last major release for Nintendo this year and that game is pretty much five days away from its release and already got a Direct all of its own. I‘d say the next Direct in mid to end of January, beginning of February at the very latest, with the spring titles as its focus (probably including a release date/delay of the Yoshi and Kirby Games for Switch and some new announcements.) They might even go into details about the paid online service and their plans for VC.
I think the next Direct will be in January or February where they will maybe announce one more game for 2018 (Super Smash Bros hopefully) but it is more than likely going to focus on their online services.
It does feel like it's about time for a Nintendo Direct, most of the games that were being promoted are out already, so they have nothing left to talk about until we get some new game announcements.
That is not exactly the link I was asking about. I was asking about the "... empty slot that is added to the official Nintendo corporate page for Nintendo Directs". Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
I think Nintendo's next Direct will be in mid-January with any info shared beforehand be either via other normal methods (e.g. a FE Warriors Fates DLC trailer on Youtube) or The Game Awards (e.g. BotW DLC Pack 2).
I've been saying it for the last couple of months, there is 100% a major Direct coming before the end of the year. I thought it would be before the end of November but they might just wait until a few days after Xenoblade 2 comes out.I think we can rule out them having a Direct in the week before Xmas nor will there be one between Xmas and New Year. So it's either going to be this coming week or within the first 2 weeks of December, but for sure, it's imminent or I'll eat my hat. Leaving it till 2018 to make more announcements just doesn't make sense to me for a couple of reasons.
Once Xenoblade 2 is out not one single game has a release date. That 2018 infographic really needs some dates, even if it's just release months. It also needs a big Nintendo title or 2 added to make it look more exciting as there will be Xmas shoppers wondering what's on the horizon, just having Yoshi and Kirby along with Wolfenstein 2 and Project Octopath doesn't cut it. Then there is the Zelda DLC that we still know nothing about. That's a pretty big deal, surely they're not going to reveal that in a press release.
So yep, I'm confident it's imminent and it will feature the Zelda DLC reveal as well as multiple announcements with at least one of them being a major game, probably for summer.
I'm 100% positive that the Zelda DLC will be shown off at the Game Awards. Possibly something else as well.
As for the next Direct? I think we'll see it in early January. In the meantime I think another Nindies Showcase will happen.
By the way, I think it's safe to assume that the online services will not be talked about in a Direct. Services and future system updates will be announced on their own in a press release/trailer drop/Tweet. They don't want those in the Directs anymore.
There probably won't be a Direct until after Xenoblade 2 is released at the earliest. January is more likely.
January and February will probably be "empty" months for the Switch in terms of 1st party content, unless Nintendo drops some surprises. Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and the AAA/indie 3rd party releases from this holiday will carry the Switch until around March/April.
Barring a delay, info on the Switch's online service will most certainly drop by January 2018. Nintendo will report their 3rd quarter financials then, and since Nintendo will charge for the service, they are pretty much obligated to explain to their shareholders what makes the service a worthwhile investment.
On second thoughts, I'm not sure. For some reason I keep thinking Kirby could be February but the September Direct said Spring so that can't be the case, Project Octopath doesn't even have it's true name yet (that's a working title) so will probably be later in 2018 and if Yoshi was coming before Kirby it would've been in the September Direct.
3 months seems a bit too long of a gap for nothing but indie games and DLC/updates for existing games. So either an early 2018 Direct in mid-December (around 14th) or a February game being another Game Awards announcement. Either way I still think BotW DLC Pack 2 is a Game Awards reveal.
I have feeling something happened on between 7 - 14 Dec 2017.
Maybe another Nintendo Direct.
Remember, there was an AOV for Switch announcement from Last Nintendo Direct.
Probably, during Winter 2017 ( that indicates about during December 2017) there will be another Nintendo Direct that will also explain about AOV Switch version, including with Online Service for that game.
So, i believe there will be a Shocking Announcement during December 2017.
Btw, it still my speculation...
My grand father works at Nintendo. He told me that the men's toilets on the second floor are out of order and the nearest available are located on the fourth floor. Erm...he's a janitor and has nothing to do with software development...
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
I think the next direct should slowly start rolling out information for Metroid Prime 4. I would also say Pokemon, but GameFreak seems to like doing their own thing in terms of announcements. But yeah, some new announcements are a must, and I mean something actually new. Smash Bros. is a given and will surprise no one.
