Topic: WW2 games anyone else refuse to play as Germany?

I bought today World Conqueror 3D from the eshop. Its not a bad game. Its WW2 on a global scale and not realistic at all. You have the option of playing as Germany. For a game like this I will not. I used to play the old Talonsoft games at least they were sims of real life battles. Although I never played as Germany. Am I the only one who will not play as Germany?

I honestly really don't care what country I'm supposed to be playing as in war strategy games.

If anything, I would just choose an army based on color schemes or something.

It's not like playing as one country or another will make a game of killing virtual little soldiers for fun any more or less evil or wicked. In the end, all countries end up being the same.

Not to defend the Nazis, which is different from present day Germany, or anything. But they did have some interesting tactics, weapons and vehicles in WW2. Playing a strategy game as a certain army doesn't mean you agree with the values and ideals of the leader of that country. So I don't really see something bad with that. All countries had some bad leaders but you can't put a whole nation in the same basket.

What's wrong with playing as Germany?

So would you also not play as the British in a Revolutionary War game? or as the South in a Civil War game?

Keep in mind that the vast majority of German soldiers in WWII were not Nazis (and only somewhere around 10% of the German population in general during that era were members of the Nazi party).
