Have you ever had a cool idea for a game in a franchise you have no rights too, but hope one day the company who does will make? Then post them here! I’d love to see your ideas!
I actually got 2 random ideas of my own to share!:
1:
— TL;DR: Super Mario 64 Horror Game
— Ever since I heard of “Every copy of super mario 64 is personalized”, I’ve always been fascinated by the indirect creepiness of the game and its beta. So much infact that I’d love to see Nintendo make some sort of out-of-left-field rerelease of Mario 64 on April Fools Day, where the game actually is like B3313 where it has the old beta HUD and sound effect and absolutely pursues the creepy nature/liminal-feel of what the original indirectly felt like sometimes, so kind of like an official rom-hack. Sadly Nintendo would never do this though, as Mario has to be a super happy-go-lucky family-friendly brand at all costs
2:
— TL;DR: Lego Dimensions but as a Turn-Based Combat RPG Story-Heavy Game
— Out of nowhere a while back, I thought of a crazy idea; what if Lego made a storyheavy TBCRPG featured around their numerous IPs coming together (Ninjago, Chima, NK, City, heck even Lego Star Wars for all we know) after some sort of merge, where they have to team up and stop the “darkness” that caused the merge before the world collapses or something
— I don’t want this idea to happen solely based on a cliche “defeat the embodiment of evil” story, but I primarily want this because of the potential excellence of turn-based combat gameplay with these characters, if it steals the system from Bug Fables and adds some new great things to the table, I think this could be a really great game!
— On second thought, I think the game could be better if it wasn’t a crossover and only utilized one Lego theme. (I personally think Ninjago would be the most versatile since it’s still a high-seller for LEGO, and only had 1 proper big game before, chima is too obscure and dead, NK is dead in the water, city and Star Wars already have a game, so I think Ninjago would fit best if there were only one theme)

A good VR version of the original Second Life. I've wanted that ever since I was young. Flying around, walking through gardens, going on a Ferris Wheel ride playdate, going to a dance party, shopping for new shoes, going and playing an rpg or other random game within second life.
I don't even particularly like VR things I've seen, but a good version of the above is my childhood dream so I'm sticking with it.
I still want Platinum Games to make a Kirby game. Mainline Kirby games already rely so much on a large variety of different attacks via different abilities that I feel like Platinum's style of game would be a really good fit. Also doing a Kirby version of all the over-the-top nonsense Platinum does sounds amazing.
Another idea I want to see is Mia Fey: Afterlife Attorney. You could have Mia Fey deal with like spirits or demons or whatnot in the afterlife, being the best defense attorney even after death.
@FishyS I haven’t heard of second life, is it a good game?
Also, this comment just made me realize that I also want a VR port of all 3 Metroid Prime games
@Anti-Matter Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix already exists, though one centered around all Nintendo IP could be interesting
I’m just imagining the player dancing while a spaceship is getting brutally attacked in the Metroid universe lmao

@DiamondCore
You have no idea about the hardest song in Dance Dance Revolution.
Even DDR Mario Mix has no match with DDR Arcade.
Take a look these DDR Boss songs.
MAX 360 , Challenge level 19
Endymion , Challenge level 19
Over the Period , Challenge level 19
And Goodness knows
The wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The wicked die alone...
A pokemon game made with Nintendo heavily involved in it's production. It'll never happen, since Gamefreak has full reigns of the series, but they really could use the help.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
My brain just jumped from this to Hyrule Warriors to Animal Crossing Warriors. Which now I kinda want. 😝 Imagine Isabelle just slaughtering hoards of incoming insects and evil villagers.
What I've wanted for awhile is for Ace Attorney to mix it up a little. There are a number of cases where you prove your client could not have done it, but unless you prove who did you still lose. What if you could win the case just by proving your innocence, but it could then move on to finding the true culprit, maybe with different gameplay variety, to unlock a bonus last case or something if you can successfully do that in every case.
For example, there is one case where the main culprit escapes and Gumshoe goes to track him down while the trial continues, and of course right as all hope seems lost Gumshoe shows up with the culprit in tow. But what if you switched to playing as Gumshoe and had to follow clues Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?-style to find him within a time limit, and if you run out of time then he gets on a plane and flees the country? You can still win the case, but you can no longer bring the real criminal to justice and lose whatever bonuses that might bring. I really want something like this.
Around the height of the amiibo craze, I was always hoping Nintendo would bring out a game fully designed around using them and having various franchises interact with each other a bit like Lego Dimensions if you've ever played that.
(Not to the extent of Smash Bros., just Nintendo IP though.)
Perhaps by not doing this they dodged a bullet as there were already enough toys-to-life games around that time.
So I think they made the right choice when it came to amiibo's usage and wouldn't you know it, they're still around 9 years later.
(Probably because we all want to own own official Nintendo models!)
But I still think about it from time to time. Maybe it could've been an RPG where all the characters work together to defeat the same villain (a bit like Galeem) with each of them having different motives. The different amiibo you buy/scan in could unlock new party members.
There could be sub-plots/side quests which take place more in that characters world heck, could even switch to the gameplay of that respective series for a brief while.
You're having a perfectly decent conversation with Alph or something and then BAM a Bulborb comes and you're gonna have to sort it out Pikmin-style.
The amiibo part might seem a bit tacked-on and very consumerist but it's just how I imagined it going at the time.
I'd be thrilled if we ever got a new Nintendo-crossover like this without any amiibo at all!
Well, when I was in middle school I had these stupid ideas of a game that was inspired by pretty much every single "fairy tale crossover" like that Mother Goose game on MS-DOS (forgot the name, and yes I'm aware it's nursery rhyme related), where two children embark on an adventure across a magical land to restore the "happy endings", which are basically "canon events" that got interrupted by an evil guy who...IDK why he did things like swap out the frog prince with an actual frog so that when the princess kissed it instead of him, she'd get upset and storm off because a frog "lied" to her about being a prince, and his heart broke and the "happy ending" was lost, allowing evil to take over the swamp that he was trapped in.
And there would be something about a "mafia" style wolf boss who threatened to bulldoze the Three Little Pigs' town to make way for his casino. IDK, I was bored and stupid.
