I dunno, man. Is Atari 2600 too simple for you? 'Cause I'd imagine if you studied how developers created things with such primitive technology you'd be able to better understand the NES' sprites.
Formerly MickeyTheGreat and MickMick. Now I'm Mickey again!
I decided to use early NES Sprites as a reference bacause there's no way to go more simple than that, it's still hard but not as much as bigger sprites, I think if I get how it's done I'll be in Super Mario Bros. 2 pixel art level in 1 year(yeah I'm slow when I try to learn by myself)
How 'bout Atari 2600 sprites? Those are even simpler, lol.
@Mickey@Gioku that's going a little TOO simple.... at the very least that level I've already passed..... I mean that's how my sprites looked when I tried to go for it without any help or reference(really, I'd be happy if I was kidding...)

So! All of the scenes of Live and Let Smoochy have been filmed! All that's left is to edit them together! Here's a sneak preview (I converted one of the scenes to an animated GIF. The quality isn't great, but you can at least have an idea of what to expect! ):
@Gioku looks like it'll be the best Smoochy video yet!

@Yukari_Sendo yeah it happens on my PC all the time too, since it's not wasting too much CPU% or RAM I decided to pretend it's normal...
