Topic: Ori and blind forest skill question

I’m stuck on this game. I’ve looked at walkthroughs online but I see that there’s a skill that every player is using that I don’t have. I don’t know the name of this skill or how to use it. Here’s a screenshot of it:

This skill is like a long light stream that lets you aim it at objects and shoot. You need this to release latches to have abilities behind them.

That's Light Burst. You can earn it after beating the Ginso Tree in Black Root Burrows. Definitely a useful skill to have.

Edit: It appears this ability is also exclusive to the Definitive Edition of the game, so that may be your issue if you're playing the regular version.
