usually Zelda... but lately, i've been falling in love with Mario more and more, thanks to my time replaying Galaxy, SMW, SMB2, and NSMBWii. and for some reason (maybe just because i know more about it) i'm more excited for Galaxy 2 than Skyward Sword...

To be quite honest with you, this is a very difficult question.
I've always liked Mario. Mario and the Disney style wonder of the Mushroom Kingdom is simply irresistible. I’ve always enjoyed the colorfulness and the imagination that Mario invokes, especially in light of the first Paper Mario game. I must also say Animal Crossing is the best thing after the Mario franchise.
However, as a person who enjoys Medieval Europe, Castles, Chivalry and the tales of Robin Hood and King Arthur you can also rest assured that I really enjoy The Legend of Zelda, particularly the cartoony, anime inspired The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass games. However, with Kid Icarus: Uprising cresting the horizon all of this could indeed change.
Still, to answer the question directly that the person who began this thread asked here is my answer.
Mario is my favorite. Plain and simple. You can’t have Nintendo without Mario and vice versa.
Nintendo is Mario and Mario is Nintendo. You can't have one without the other.
I would have to say Zelda, Because ive had some of my best experiances playing Zelda games. But i also love mario games but Zelda is just my kinda game i never really got into mario games besides both the Galaxy games

I like both, but a slight edge to Mario, it focuses more on action than Zelda does.
