About
Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality. As the story unfolds, Gris will grow emotionally and see her world in a different way, revealing new paths to explore using her new abilities.
GRIS is a serene and evocative experience, free of danger, frustration or death. Players will explore a meticulous designed world brought to life with delicate art, detailed animation, and an elegant original score. Through the game light puzzles, platforming sequences, and optional skill-based challenges will reveal themselves as more of Gris’s world becomes accessible.

We’re very careful when we use this word, but Gris is a masterpiece. Its jaw-dropping visual style and heart-wrenching score combine for one of the most emotional pieces of interactive art you’ll ever play. It may be too short for some, its puzzles may be on the simple side and the lack of any real challenge may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is a game focused more on fragility than ability and as long as you’re willing to go along for the ride, it’s one that will stick with you for a very long time indeed.

I don't know how to pronounce "Gris." I think it's probably "gree" and not "griss" but I, uh, digress. This is a really lovely game that is more of an interactive artistic experience with platforming and light puzzle elements.
I played and completed Gris in a single session, on a rainy day while living in a city I did not like and where I had no friends. It really fit my mood that day, and left me with strong feelings for quite a while afterward.
I don't know how else to describe this game. The full Nintendo Life review is a good start. I do recommend you play it, and pay full price if you can. It's worth it, and the artists who created this game deserve to be rewarded for their work.
