About
Goat Simulator is the latest in goat simulation technology, bringing next-gen goat simulation to YOU. You no longer have to fantasize about being a goat your dreams have finally come true!
Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style and you'll earn even more points!

Goat Simulator: The GOATY is a definitive edition of Coffee Stain Studios' slapstick destruction simulator, and as such, it's a mixed bag that varies wildly in quality. The base modes are fun for about five minutes, and there's only so much entertainment to be had from launching a farm animal from the top of a roller coaster before it becomes dull. The Waste of Space and MMO Simulator expansions are decent fun in their own right thanks to a greater sense of structure, but the purposefully crude mechanics will start to grate after a while. This is a package that arguably works best as a smartphone proposition for when you've got five minutes to kill; when placed on a proper console with many more worthy uses of your time, it all starts to feel more than a little inconsequential.

There is definitely some fun to be had with Goat Simulator. This really is a fully-open sandbox game, with few specific goals and an open world to explore. All the DLC is here from the prior PC releases, and I did enjoy some of my time exploring the game's world and wreaking havoc as a very silly goat.
The problem, for me at least, is that this gets old quickly. There are only so many times I can blow something up or stick my goat's tongue on something and watch the game's wonky physics do their thing. Yes, the jank is deliberate, but it does wear thin after only a couple of hours.
I will say this: there are some folks who will really get a kick out of this. I loaned my Switch to a friend, and she played dozens and dozens of hours of Goat Simulator. She said she had a fantastic time. Maybe you will, too!
Recommended only if you can find it on sale.
