The Stretchers is an unexpected delight, dropping on to the eShop without warning and perfectly timed to brighten up the long, dark winter days ahead. Tarsier has taken all its experience working on the likes of Ragdoll Kung-Fu: Fists of Plastic and LittleBigPlanet and brought it together to deliver this ridiculously OTT ragdoll puzzle riot that works well in solo but is on another level when enjoyed with a friend in co-op. Missions are varied and lend themselves perfectly to moments of hilarious slapstick, and there's a couple of real standout moments scattered across the course of proceedings that will have you laughing all the way to the end.

I rarely play games with others locally, but I had a friend visiting and we wanted to try a co-op game, so I suggested The Stretchers. We downloaded it and immediately got to having a good time.
The quirky premise: we were a couple of ambulance medics, a driver and an EMT, I guess, driving around a city and rescuing people who were dizzy for plot reasons.
This really does feel like a game designed for the Nintendo Switch, and it was a lot of fun figuring out how to best accomplish what we needed to do - getting around various obstacles and hazards to get patients on a stretcher, then work together to carry them to the ambulance and drive them to a hospital without causing more mayhem. (We caused a lot of mayhem anyway.)
I can recommend The Stretchers if you have a regular Player 2, like a spouse, partner, sibling, or child. There is no single-player mode at all, so make sure you're aware of that before downloading.
