About

Save the virus-ravaged planet! A frenzy-filled shooting game!

◆ The return of a hardcore and sexy sci-fi vertical scrolling shooter!
Players can obtain and power up two types of main shots and six types of sub-weapons. Utilize special techniques such as the "Weapon Crash", which temporarily boosts sub-weapons, and the "Boost" ability, which lets you momentarily accelerate to dodge enemy attacks. Master these skills to suppress the oncoming enemies!
The game features multiple modes:
"Story Mode", which unfolds with full voice and visual scenes.
"Arcade Mode", focusing purely on shooting action.
"Score Attack Mode", where players compete for high scores within a time limit.
"Boss Rush Mode", where players battle against a series of bosses.
Additionally, the original’s sensual scenes have been thoughtfully adapted for a modern revival, respecting the heroines' privacy while maintaining the essence of the classic.

◆ Saturn Tribute brings powerful new features to fully support players!
Enjoy modern convenience with:
The "Rewind" function, allowing players to go back and retry scenes after mistakes.
The "Save & Load" function, letting players save and revisit their favorite moments.
Additional features include:
"guide display" for item lists on the side of the screen.
"carry-over weapon system", allowing players to keep their weapons after clearing stages (not in the original).
An "extra durability boost" for the player character.
*While the in-game menu supports both "Japanese and English", some in-game text and voiceovers remain "Japanese only".

◆ What is "STEAM-HEART'S"?
Originally released as a PC game in 1994, "STEAM-HEART'S" became a hit with its combination of numerous visual scenes featuring heroines and an engaging shooting gameplay experience.
This version is based on the 1998 home console release, bringing the classic back with modern enhancements.

Nintendo Life said:

It must be said, in removing its pornographic elements, Steam-Heart’s is largely robbed of its intrigue. Visually improved though the Saturn version is, its amateur doujin elements can still be felt beneath the surface. And, while reasonably fun to work through and see the sights, it doesn't demand repeat visits.

It still has absolutely stellar Kimura art, some more interesting moments in later stages, and some nice boss designs. The boost-dodging and sub-weapon cannibalisations, too, make up in some way for the unstructured nature of its bullets and grossly uneven difficulty. There’s perhaps enough steam in it for a completion or two, but the lack of translation is a real bummer, and it offers little else remarkable beyond the mystique of its PC-98 roots.
