Story

Shogo Okiie, an ordinary office worker, visits Kinshibori Park in the dead of night with his friend, Yoko Fukunaga, to investigate a well-known local ghost story: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo.

Shogo doesn’t quite believe Yoko when she talks about how the Mysteries are connected to the Rite of Resurrection and doesn't pay it much mind - that is, until strange events begin to unfold before his very eyes.

Meanwhile, several others are making their own investigations into The Seven Mysteries...

Detectives investigating a series of strange deaths, a high-school girl seeking the truth behind her classmate’s suicide, and a mother who has sworn revenge for her lost son.

Their desires and motives intertwine and interplay, with the Seven Mysteries of Honjo at the core, leading the story towards a battle of wits and curses.

Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is one of the most surprising games we've experienced in a good while. Its overarching narrative, while initially quite heavy on exposition, is wonderfully told, interweaving the lives of multiple protagonists and tasking the player with progressing their stories in meaningful ways. The puzzles are fantastic, the characters well realised, and the visuals top-notch, making those brief moments of horror and terror exceedingly effective. It's an experience we fully recommend going into with as little information as possible, as this will prove to be an incredibly memorable experience; one that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Switch's best visual novels.

Paranormasight is a Visual Novel with Graphic Adventure and Horror elements following multiple characters who possess “curse stones”, and are enticed to hunt down and use their curses to kill each other to resurrect a friend or loved one. This game has a wonderful Rashomon-style plot, excellent fourth wall-breaking puzzles, and a beautiful art style, all for only $20. It has a few issues, and a somewhat silly premise, but overall this is an outstanding Visual Novel and Graphic Adventure, and in particular fans of those genres who enjoy dark stories of the occult should absolutely consider this a must-have.
