About
Set in a distant future where humanity has colonised the far reaches of space, Morphite follows the story of Myrah Kale, a young woman whose life takes a sudden turn when a simple mission develops into an epic interstellar journey revealing her mysterious past and relation to a coveted substance called Morphite.
Myrah will voyage to the furthest corners of space and explore uncharted procedurally-generated planets, each with diverse landscapes teeming with exotic flora and fauna. With the help of a scanner, Myrah will sell biological information for ship, suit and weapon upgrades.
Inside Myrah’s vessel, players will engage in random encounters with real-time space combat, trade with other travellers across the galaxy and navigate outer space with Morphite’s easy-to-use Starmap system.

Take this game for what it is, not what it is enevitably become compared to and you'll have an engaging story and pleasant exploration-based experience - for the most part. During your travels it's really up to you how much you want to discover, catalogue and upgrade. Morphite isn't a bad little first-person adventure but thrill seekers looking for a stop gap before Metroid Prime 4 could end up feeling short changed; rather than cause your pulse to race this jaunt through the uncharted regions of the universe is quite laid back and curiously lacking in excitement. It ranks as an enjoyable - if sometimes pedestrian - adventure that you will ultimately get as much out of as you are willing to put in, but we fear a great many players will simply lose interest.

When I first played Morphite, I derisively called it "Slow Man's Sky." My bad joke wasn't that far off; while I appreciate the understated visuals and bold limited colors, I found the gameplay to be lacking. I kept getting lost, and not in a good way. Ultimately, after a few hours of struggling to figure out how to make any significant progress, I gave up. You might have better results if you're more patient than me, but Morphite just didn't click with me. It's too bad, because it feels like it had potential.
