People, for everything awful Nintendo does, this isn't one of them. There is a less than 0% chance its them trying to make people stop using Pretendo, its legal ass-covering and nothing more. Without this, you could literally take them to court on a technicality because they didn't tell you of potential dangers to using a pirate online service. Now they did.
For even the most cynical of people, let me point this out- if Nintendo really wanted people to stop using Pretendo, they wouldn't put a statement telling you not to use it. They'd send the ninjas (C&D) to kill it, legality be damned. And they would win as they always have. At this point, you'd be arguing they don't even have the right to cover their ass from lawsuits because of something like this and that's just as nonsensical as can be.
We heard the message from Nintendo, we can ignore it. And now if anything were to happen, Nintendo has a legal defense on their side protecting them in that they warned us and we didn't listen. They cannot be sued for it.
