Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, the video game based on the popular Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai manga from the '80s and '90s, has been confirmed for a worldwide release this Fall, Square Enix has announced (thanks, Gematsu!).
The action RPG was confirmed to be coming to Switch last September, but now we know roughly when to expect Dai — the hero of this new game — to make his appearance. Gematsu also shared a brief clip from the game (above), which showcases the main character's poses.
Developed by Game Studio and Kai Graphics, Infinity Strash is the third title in Square Enix's Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai multimedia project which was announced in 2020. The other two have already been released — a brand new anime adaptation of the original manga, and a mobile game (which will shut down this April).
We've also got a few brand new screenshots to show off for the game, and it looks like there will be sections that look like drawings straight from a manga — lovely!
Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, while adapting the story of the new 100-episode anime, will not be covering the entire narrative of the show. The new anime adaptation of the classic manga ended its run in November 2022 in Japan.

Finally! I’ve been looking forward to this one since it was announced. Here’s hoping no delays. I do hope if it doesn’t initially cover the entire series it might have updated DLC. Especially now that the anime has ended.

@Friscobay My country grew up with the 80s/90s anime and manga. The new anime means a lot to me cuz it covered the entire manga, so it is a biased opinion lol. But if you like a classic feeling of battle shonen in a fantasy world, its fun

so many dragon quest spinoffs, sadly ive never been able to get into DQ mainline games so these are all lost on me. 😕
@-wc- that's fine.. each Dragon Quest is it's own game (like Final Fantasy) so you don't need to play any of them to understand the others. This even applies to the spin-offs, even when they are connected to a mainline title. This one is based on the anime/manga, which doesn't require any prior knowledge.
Having not watched either anime (damn you local TV signal that takes over the national one when they air DQ), I'm interested in this.

I watched this whole series with my kids... it was a great show! the mobile game was fun but man I can't handle triple a titles on mobile, I feel like I'm wasting half my time downloading updates.
Square Enix will estimate sales of 12million units and will be disappointed when it sells 400K copies worldwide.

This looks awesome! I really tried to get into DQ XI , but I only learned that traditional RPG mechanics are not my thing. This looks right up my alley though!

@TonyTyga90 Two different teams are running those projects. The progress with Infinity Strash will not interfere with III HD-2D.
I can’t wait for III HD-2D. I really hope they continue that style for IV and especially V.

@Elira Same for us here in Italy so even though I unfortunately missed this particular anime I'm still quite excited and admittedly biased for this game (want to eventually check the manga and/or anime, too)!
At last!!! I was scared that this was canceled due to the fact that it was anounced so long ago... but it looked sooooo good... it was like an Secret of mana type of rpg. But, knowing that it will not cover the entirety of the manga... will it be until the fight against Baran, like the original anime? Because it's like half of the story and it will make sense because it's just before the little time-skip.
