As you can see in the trailer above, this season based on 'The Little Prince' has launched. You can play the story for free or pick up the Adventure Season Pass at £9.99; that pass will increase rewards and extras. The story will introduce the "Starlight Desert" area and will be playable in parts over the next 11 weeks, as you'll "be tasked to explore a different part of the Sky kingdom with the Little Prince to learn about his story and his travels."

Back in mid-April it was announced by esteemed development studio thatgamecompany that its title Sky: Children of the Light would come to Switch. The development studio previously worked on PlayStation exclusives like Flower and Journey, before going its own way and releasing Sky on mobile devices. It's now confirmed to be arriving on Switch at the end of this month, on 29th June.
It was also confirmed that the next 'season' - it's a free-to-start experience - will be a collaboration that features The Little Prince, an iconic tale and IP; that'll launch in early July, below is a teaser that was shared in late April which now makes a bit more sense.
Sky: Children of Light is a game that combines exploration and story for solo players with online interactions, an expansion on an approach we also saw in Journey. There are 7 realms to explore to 'uncover the mystery', but meeting others will also allow you to tackle more areas when teaming up; based on many user reviews it's beautifully handled.

Really excited for this. I love thatgamecompany. Everything they have done has been such a wonderful and unique experience. It just makes me happy to be able to play one of their games on a Nintendo platform. I've held off playing this for that reason
Also adore thatgamecompany, and Journey is one of my favorite games I've ever played.
With that said, I'm a bit sad that their follow-up title is a F2P replete with seasons. I'm still excited to try it, and I hope the F2P design doesn't ruin it. (the worst of F2P microtransactions being time gates)
There are few things in life I love more than The Little Prince. I'm 100 percent in.
Looking forward to this one! I'm a sucker for these types of pretty looking laid back adventure games.
Also, I'm not into multiplayer but if the co-op is about same as in Journey, then I'm all in!

The Little Prince is my favorite book ever, this looks awesome
I do like the art of The Little Prince, but I read the book a couple of years ago and didn't enjoy it much at all, quite the disappointment.
One of my favourite books of all time. Funnily enough I found the book itself to be just alright, but the audiobook narrated by Humphrey Bower was absolutely magical. Would highly recommend to everyone.
@Savino it is like journey, but u can see lots of Shadow people running around that u can ignore or choose to interact with. Late game has more opportunities to interact w them, i hear, but it's free, so worth it to check out. It's really charming & beautiful even in handheld, & it's very relaxing to play. I really just wish you could turn off the multiplayer portion, so outlines/shadows of other players weren't able to be seen, but oh well. When u decide to interact w someone, it does form a little bond w them, seemingly, and in my experience, it's only specific areas where there's lots of them. In those cases,, it's hard to ignore, but the rest of the exploration, i just see a couple people here & there, so it's not too bad, i guess (since we don't have an option).

@Savino I felt the MMO aspect of it was pretty meh until I ran through Eden, everything clicks beautifully there and imho it wouldn't be the same experience without it.
It's 100% worth a play through, whilst it's fair to say that the f2p elements are as expensive as any other. There's no energy or resource gating behind money that I can see. Just a couple of purchasable items as well as the option to buy more currency which is easily farmed up in short bursts thanks to a very substantial buff you get each day anyway.
edit oh and on a side note, the monetisation stuff is 100% irrelevant for a single play through. It only becomes relevant if you want to stick with the game longer term and start unlocking cosmetics etc.
I dled this on Tuesday and played for about 2 hours and like it a lot, but! The multiplayer aspect while charming hits an early ceiling for me when trying to interact beyond holding hands. Why? Typing on a docked Switch is a paaaain
I dled on phone and considering playing there instead just to be able to chat, but I really prefer my games on the tv, what to do... likely scenario: will try to play through on tv while ignoring the companionship, failing, becoming frustrated again, and stop
